As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will play a key role in implementing
and maintaining AMA's enterprise data platform to support analytics,
interoperability, and responsible AI adoption. This role partners closely with
platform engineering, data governance, data science, IT security, and business
stakeholders to deliver highquality, reliable, and secure data products. This
role contributes to AMA's modern lakehouse architecture, optimizing data
operations, and embedding governance and quality standards into engineering
workflows. This role serves as a
senior technical contributor within the team-providing mentorship to junior
engineers and implementing engineering best practices within the data platform function,
in alignment with architectural direction set by leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Engineering & AI Enablement

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and
    ETL/ELT workflows supporting analytics, operational reporting, and AI/ML use
    cases.
  • Implement best practice patterns for ingestion,
    transformation, modeling, and orchestration within a modern lakehouse
    environment (e.g., Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake).
  • Develop highperformance
    data models and curated datasets with strong attention to quality, usability,
    and interoperability; create reusable engineering components and automation.
  • Collaborate with the Architecture Team, the Data
    Platform Lead, and federated IT teams to optimize storage, compute, and

Data Science Undergraduate Studies (DSUS) at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach DSUS courses should an opening arise. About DSUS



Data Science Undergraduate Studies (DSUS) offers a range of academic, co-curricular, and enrichment programs-including the Data Science major and minor-with a wide-reaching impact both across UC Berkeley and beyond.



Designed in collaboration with faculty from across Berkeley, Data Science invests students with deep technical knowledge, expertise in how to apply that knowledge in a field of their choosing, and an understanding of the social and human contexts and ethical implications of how data are collected, analyzed, and used. Position Summary

Perform a variety of routine and complex skilled and technical work in the maintenance of a Geographic Information System (GIS) relating to the Public Works Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and asset management program. Act as the primary contact for Public Works CMMS data stewardship. Apply GIS technology to provide GIS and CMMS data related technical support. Perform research, analysis, design and creation of data and applications for use in the Geographic Information System. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.

Essential Duties

Collects, inputs, edits, and verifies spatial data from a variety of internal and external data inputs. Integrates associated attribute data. Manipulates, models, and analyzes spatial data in the geographic information system. Documents data entry and related procedures.

Maintains Public Works GIS datasets and mapping system. Applies GIS technology to produce and perform advanced data entry and manipulation, produces documentation, and performs spatial analysis. Develops and runs spatial queries and produces reports.

Modifies and maintains CMMS data to support asset data analysis. Collaborates with Asset Management staff and Public Works supervisors to assist in program development by gathering information for assets and other new and old data and information needed to allow the asset data system to function effectively; creates new codes for the above areas mentioned and when necessary modifies asset characteristics and descriptions.

Coordinates with Public Works program supervisors to efficiently and accurately enter data into the system. Collects and enters asset data into the CMMS and related databases from various sources including direct field investigation; documents such as as-built drawings, invoices, and O&M manuals.

Generates standard and ad-hoc reports using the standard report structure of the asset data system, and other end user reporting tools, provides information for the preparation and distribution of periodic standard location and equipment reports to support maintenance teams and management requests.

Performs quality control checks of asset data to ensure the accuracy of all data within the system.

Provides implementation and ongoing operational support for GIS/CMMS and GIS/CMMS users.

Provides system and data troubleshooting. Collaborates with IT to resolve system or data issues.

Develops programs, procedures, and applications using GIS and related software tools.

Applies software such as, CAD, database, spreadsheet, word processing, communications, graphics and web publishing software to the production and delivery of GIS related products.

JOB SUMMARY



This position incubates and establishes a leading-edge global Data Governance function to support business segments, corporate functions and the Digital & Technology stakeholders. The responsibility includes




  • Liaise directly with clients and account teams to provide strategic direction on implementation of data governance programs, best practices, adoption of standards, mast data management, and data quality improvement while leveraging leading-edge data governance tools and technology.
  • Collaborate with and manage highly performing data governance and data management professionals that support occupier clients and account teams.
  • Provide support on data strategy execution in the adoption of data products including enterprise data platform that provides game-changing analytics in the CRE industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Participate in the strategy, planning, and execution for Enterprise Data Governance at, focusing on Building Operations & Experience (BOE) business segment. Ensure the company has urgency, sensitivity and thought leadership for competitive capabilities around data.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a large, complex, global organization, including the ability to effectively work and communicate across organizational lines. Ensure business stakeholder understanding, alignment and commitment to the objectives of the data governance and management program(s). Be the champion and evangelist for data, the business value, and the potential innovations. Be the trusted advisor to senior leadership and peers.
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships and leading high-performing teams with top talents around the world.   • Collaborate with partners across business segments/ business lines, regions and accounts to develop consistent data governance capabilities at all levels, influencing decisions relating to policy, practices, supporting technology, and talent development.
  • Establish leading data management practices and shared services relating to data quality, data provisioning, metadata, lineage, reference data, issue management and change management.
  • Implement data governance as commodity services that could be leveraged by various clients in different industries. Understand clients' appetite and risk culture in day-to-day support activities and decision-making.
  • Establish account team data governance programs. Define data domains and implement business oversight via essential data governance organizations and RACI (i.e. central data governance function, Data Ownership and Stewardship Program, etc.). Establish data standards, policies and controls. Design and implement the framework, including associated processes, necessary to sustain a data control environment. Monitoring compliance with data policies and standards
  • Establish account team and cross-account data quality framework necessary to enable data quality reporting, issue identification, remediation and tracking, ultimately ensuring trust and confidence in data across domains.
  • Guide the client accounts to adopt the strategic data products including existing account migrations and new account transitions. Manage data to support and its clients' business intelligence and scale appropriately with business growth.
  • Experience in leading and driving leading-edge data innovation initiatives including big data, cloud computing, IoT, data virtualization and federation, etc., is a plus.
  • Create and implement strategic approaches, plans, timelines, preparation of business cases to ensure expedited handling of client data protection, and other data compliance and security requirements.
  • Develop and implement metrics needed to monitor/ report on data governance and data management progress
  • Develop communication approaches and change management strategies; determines presentation focus and emphasis and prepares board-level presentations.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

The School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of part-time, non-tenure track lecturers to teach online courses in the Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) program. We seek exceptional instructors with professional and/or academic expertise who can lead small, highly interactive sections of around 17 graduate students in this innovative, online program.

Position description

This postdoctoral opportunity brings together faculty from UC Berkeley's School of Education (BSE); the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS); and the Social Science D-Lab to support one (1) postdoctoral scholar as they study the teaching and learning of Data Science. Scholars will apprentice with multiple projects to develop and contribute expertise and scholarship in ethical data science teaching and learning across precollege, 2-year college, and 4-year university contexts. A major goal is to prepare scholars who are conversant across sectors, in order to help create coherent and supportive data science learning trajectories for all students.



We seek applicants with complementary relevant skill-sets and training in data science and education. This includes applicants with different educational backgrounds (e.g. research, regional, or liberal arts colleges; technical and community colleges), methodologies (e.g. qualitative and quantitative approaches to social sciences research), and experiences related to teaching or educational research (e.g. tutoring, teaching, curriculum development). We hope scholars will all share commitments to contributing high-quality, ethical Data Science Education teaching, curriculum, and scholarship. The program will prepare postdoctoral scholars for a variety of careers such as entering Discipline-Based Education Research or the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning of Data Science as research or teaching faculty at a range of colleges and universities; working for non-academic organizations that design, develop, and study curricula, resources, and teacher learning for Data Science Education; or working with school districts or university systems to support student readiness, success, interest/confidence and career awareness in data science.



Duties of Position:

Year 1: Researchers will work with specialists among the faculty in Computer Science, Data-Intensive Social Science, Education, and Statistics in research rotations across departments; attend monthly workshops designed to develop the knowledge base required to conduct consequential research in this field; and become integral members of a growing community of practice at UC Berkeley and across the SF Bay Area.



Year 2: Researchers will engage with a year-long apprenticeship with a faculty mentor and will develop an independent project within the context of one of the many educational initiatives led by project personnel. Fellows will have the opportunity to teach workshops in Python/Jupyter, social science methodology, data literacy pedagogies, or data science curriculum development, and they may also teach undergraduate courses in Data Science/Statistics or STEM teacher preparation, no more than one course per year in the lecturer title. They will present their independent work at campus colloquia and will engage the broader Data Science Education field through scholarly conferences, technical workshops, and UC Berkeley's annual Data Science Education convening.
