Scope of this position: Supports the design and implementation of controls-based solutions for novel future processing equipment, specifically fiber making and cable process equipment, in the optical waveguide and cabling manufacturing processes.
These controls solutions will enable manufacturing systems to deliver and transform raw materials to product, convey ware between discrete processing steps, and/or measure and characterize ware created and/or processed by these novel manufacturing methods.
Day to Day Responsibilities: Integrate field devices for flow control, material handling and metering, motion control, temperature control, and associated safety systems based the system design package enabling a fully functional equipment platform.
Work closely with controls engineers to implement control sequence logic (both time-based and event-based), fail-safe states, and process /equipment recovery sequences.
Implement specified field devices to accomplish desired process / equipment functions, and compatible / compliant with site standards.
Accurately estimate timeframe to complete assigned project work once scope of work is adequately defined and then complete work to agreed-to timeline.
Participate in engineering project teams that are responsible to deliver robust, cost effective automation and process machine systems to Corning’s manufacturing plants and processes.
Work within project teams to support the solving of difficult automation problems, resolution of project related issues, and development of fundamental understanding of technical / process requirements critical to system success.
Drive the deployment of defined control architectures, control system standards, and system integration that will satisfy process and manufacturing requirements.
Interface with external system integrators and machine builders to enable project deliverables.
Actively participate in project fabrication, off-line integration and testing, drawings and documentation, installation, production start-up support, training of plant personnel, and technology transfer.
Report to project leader on assigned project activities on a pre-determined basis.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs safe respiratory therapy modalities as ordered by physician, developing a plan of care based on assessment data and standards of care, identifying needs for alternative action in the plan of treatment and involves the multi-disciplinary team in revisions to plan of care. Sets up, maintains and monitors mechanical ventilation according to policy and procedure. Administers medications demonstrating thorough knowledge of policy and procedure. Assembles, selects, operates, and cleans respiratory equipment for proper and appropriate function. This includes but is not limited to mechanical ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP and High Flow systems, oxygen delivery devices and oxygen analyzers, manual resuscitators, and suctioning equipment. Performs tracheal, endotracheal, and nasopharyngeal suctioning including the instillation of pharmacologic agents according to policy and procedure. Draws blood gases and runs samples through the iStat point of care device to process results, all following policy and procedure. Interprets arterial blood gas and oximetry results and reports critical values to the ordering provider. Differentiates between patient and equipment problems and intervenes appropriately. Documents and communicates all patient therapies including concerns during shift.

Provide physician support during bronchoscopy such as, instilling solutions, taking biopsy samples, utilizing brushings per department protocols, handling, labeling, and ordering of samples in EMR from physician order, transport of specimens to lab for processing, and billing/documentation of procedure.
1. Demonstrates safe and proper collection, transport and analysis of arterial blood gases as evidenced by successful completion of competencies, including age specific requirements for sampling and testing, and/or direct observation.
1. Understands the theory and operation of the point of care blood gas analyzer as evidenced by the ability to assess the accuracy/precision of the instrument utilizing daily maintenance record. Routine trouble shooting and monthly QC.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
· Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program. Must provide a copy of diploma or transcript upon hire.
· The candidate must hold the credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care and a current license from the State of Connecticut to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
· A candidate with a CRT credential must obtain the RRT credential from the NBRC within 12 months of employment.
· The candidate will hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and maintain certification as required by the organization.
· Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are desirable but not required.
· Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) certification is desirable but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
· A minimum of one (1) year of skilled respiratory experience within the last two years.
· Must be able to work well and efficiently independently and with others in a fast paced acute patient care environment.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead key manufacturing engineering initiatives that drive operational excellence, process efficiency, and product quality. This role is critical in supporting new product introductions, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring production readiness across all operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong project leadership, and a proactive commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and develop manufacturing processes, including proper sequencing of operations, to support the production of high-quality mechanical components and assemblies.
- Design and develop manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and gages using SolidWorks as the primary CAD system, applying best practices such as DFM, DFA, tolerance stack analysis, and cost-effective design principles. May include development of engineering and production test fixtures. Working knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial.
- Create and maintain fully dimensioned 2D drawings linked to 3D models for all manufacturing operations. Apply strong GD&T knowledge to ensure design intent, manufacturability, and inspection requirements are clearly defined.
- Develop, manage, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), including material selection, specifications, and raw material configurations to support manufacturing and procurement requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and control of design revisions within the full Technical Data Package, including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, routings, and engineering masters.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional design and process reviews to ensure products and processes are optimized for manufacturability, quality, and cost. Support the development and execution of project timelines and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and support to cross-functional teams, including Applications Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production, to improve product flow from design release through finished goods.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues on the production floor, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Evaluate, justify, and support implementation of capital equipment, automation, and new technologies to enhance manufacturing capability and efficiency.
