What you will do: Responsibilities listed include but not limited to:

• 
  
• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans of patients with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders
  
• Regularly re-assess effectiveness of treatment plans, attend staffing meetings and family conferences
  
• Perform discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and education resources
  
• Communicate patient's needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services and family members
  
• Communicates with other disciplines to ensure collaboration, coordination of care and enhance patient outcomes
  

What you will need:

• 
  
• Minimum of a Master's Degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program
  
• Valid Speech Language Pathology license in the state(s) of practice
  
• Current CPR Certification
  
• A minimum of one year's work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
  
• Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury preferred
  
• Communicates effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions
  
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
  
• Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
  
• Duties require fine motor skills,visual acuity, and walking/ standing for extended periods
  
• Additional physical requirements include:pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times

Adjunct Faculty instructors at Saint Xavier University are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as in-person, online, hybrid and/or blended formats, with a preference towards in-person instruction. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, departmental communication, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.

One of the following degrees:

• PhD / ABD in related field (literature, technical communication, or similar) with experience teaching composition at the college level
• PhD in a Liberal Arts field with extensive experience teaching composition at the college level
• Master's (MA) degree in Writing (Rhetoric, Composition, Writing Studies) with experience teaching at the college level
• Master's (MA) in a related field (literature, technical communication, or similar) with experience teaching composition at the college level
• Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in creative writing or an MA in a similar writing specialty with experience teaching composition at the college level
• MA in English Education with extensive teaching experience, ideally to include some experience teaching at the college level.

Position Summary:

Evaluates speech and language pediatric patients with known or suspected health conditions and performs therapeutic treatment procedures as indicated. Makes patient referrals to other health care agencies/disciplines as indicated. Feeding and swallowing experience encouraged but not required. Instruct patients and family members in individualized activity programs designed to maximize functional abilities. Completes timely and efficient documentation. Employee is also responsible for supporting the mission and goals of Creighton Pediatric Therapy.

Education & Experience:

Graduation from a speech language pathology education program is required. Three or more years of experience in pediatric speech language pathology therapy preferred. Experience in feeding and swallowing experience is encouraged but not required. Display proficiency in the use of common speech language pathology therapy standardized assessments, an understanding of childhood development, and the use of intervention procedures. Completion of HIPAA and immunization requirements prior to patient care. Completion of NPI number and insurance plan credentialing prior to independent patient care required. Completion of background check and drug screen during the pre-employment process.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice speech language pathology by the Nebraska State Department of Health is required.
