603 Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Cable Assembly Engineer to support the development and optimization of cable and wire harness manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for creating clear, accurate, and efficient work instructions for production teams, ensuring consistent quality and manufacturability of cable assemblies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cable assembly manufacturing and a strong ability to translate engineering documentation into practical, production-ready instructions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience creating work instructions for cable assembly manufacturing.

The Assembler II is responsible for meeting daily production targets with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, inventory management, and productivity. This role focuses on assembling Low Voltage Assemblies and performing all associated tasks, including those assigned to Assembler I positions (Flex and Lean), as well as assembly machine operation. Additional responsibilities include PowerWave2 hi-pot testing, label creation, quality verification, and completing material transactions in AS400.

Perform layout work and operate tools such as drills, saws, punches, riveters, caulking equipment, and painting tools as needed.
Apply identification labels to completed assemblies.
Retrieve and deliver materials to the assembly line to support production flow.
Prepare assemblies for shipment or storage as part of the final assembly process.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and WSRA requirements.

- Strong understanding of cable routing, strain relief, and aerospace/automotive wiring standards
- Hands-on experience using tools such as wire strippers, heat shrink tubing, and torque wrenches

As a Manufacturing Engineer - ATLO (Assembly Test & Launch Operations) you will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures to build, test and launch satellites, related subsystems, and components.
This position's internal job code is Manufacturing Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for levels 2 & 3.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work with other teams to mechanically integrate satellite components into complex assemblies in a continuously evolving production environment
- Interface with technicians, quality inspectors, and engineers in a cleanroom
- Review assembly level engineering drawings and schematics to anticipate build challenges and implement changes for manufacturability and production scalability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain work instructions, bills of materials, standard operating procedures, etc. in support of manufacturing and supply chain execution using MES and ERP/MRP tools
- Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
- Lead and executes tasks as needed to transition final integration builds from low-rate initial production to high rate production
- Document, analyze, and provide resolution for non-conformances and implement corrective actions
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required)
- 3+ years' experience in mechanical manufacturing engineering or assembly, integration, and test engineering in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries. (Structures, Propulsion, Integration or GSE)
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures
- Experience with the build, assembly, or testing of complex systems
- Must have technical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis complete with sound engineering based corrective actions
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and concepts
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with integration of complex assemblies, including test experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical assemblies, manufacturing processes, or industry standards
- Foundation in electromechanical or mechatronic concepts
- Thorough understanding of root cause analysis and related analytical methodology (Five Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa Analysis, 8D, etc.) and root cause driven engineering changes
Aerospace and/or DOD Experience
- Background in Lean Manufacturing/Process Improvement
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university

Description
FUNCTION:
In an assigned area or cell, work with limited supervision to perform the assembly of Production aircraft parts as well as the teardown, and assembly of Overhaul & Repair designated aircraft parts.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Performs fitting and assembly operations on various production aircraft parts.
- Performs teardown and assembly of overhaul & repair aircraft parts.
- Cleans and applies special adhesives to materials resulting in a permanent bonding of the materials. Sets up and controls furnace temperature in accordance with established specifications.
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, operation sheets, technical specifications and overhaul manuals.
- Maintains necessary records and files.
- Works with limited supervision.
- Assists operators in a lower classification on assembly techniques as needed.
- Performs temporary part marking, In process transfer marking and final part parking operations using Vibro Engraving, Electro-chemical Etch, Ink Stamp, Dot-Peening, and Paint marking with suitable legibility to meet drawing or customer specification requirements
- Works under supervision with salary and hourly support groups to address the most complex problems.
- Must possess a skill level that eliminates errors that cause nonconforming material and maintain a consistent level of high quality work. Identify non-conformances at time of occurrence. Recognize opportunities for non-conformances and notify management of need for action.
- Actively participate in various aspects of Lean production and Continuous Improvement projects that drive efficiency improvements.
- Must work safely at all times. Participate in safety improvement initiatives by raising any safety concerns and helping to come up with corrective actions.
