This position is responsible for performing component manufacturing and equipment assembly to support Extol’s proprietary staking product line. The Ideal Candidate
- Provides component manufacturing and equipment assembly, including assembly, wiring, program downloads, and testing to meet specifications.

You will be working with a small group of talented creatives tasked with crafting, inspecting and ensuring all finished print jobs and special projects are on time and beautifully assembled and presented. Position Responsibilities:

Review bar charts or automated timelines to determine job assignments and obtain necessary drawings.
Locate work areas using drawings, installation plans, or other paperwork that specifies airplane and section numbers.
Obtain and verify kitted parts against installation plans and bill of materials to ensure they are correct and free of defects.
Retrieve parts from the Parts Control Area or other designated locations if they are not pre-picked, ensuring they meet specifications.
Obtain a two-way radio and confined space flag before working in confined spaces, adhering to Communications System for Confined Hazardous Areas (CSCHA) rules and regulations.
Perform drilling, reaming, riveting, cold working, bonding, grounding, and sealing as necessary to complete work assignments.
Assemble and install aircraft plumbing and electrical systems within closed areas of the wing and horizontal stabilizer, ensuring compliance with specifications.
Perform pickup and rework, incorporating changes and conducting functional checks on work typically installed by lower classifications.
Perform continuity checks for electrical systems and hand form electrical wiring and soldering as necessary for work assignments.
Perform final cleaning and closing of fuel cells, including vacuuming and installing fuel cell doors.
Locate and pre-install routing and clamping hardware for in-wing fuel tank electrical and plumbing systems as required.
Use precision measuring instruments to verify that quality standards are achieved.
Report job handicaps, such as errors in sequencing, parts, materials, and assembly procedures, following shop procedures.
Check work after completion of each operation to ensure assembly is complete and free of defects and remove and replace installations and related components as necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Associate 2 - Pre-Assembly Operator to support manufacturing operations within the pre-assembly area. Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic production equipment used in pre-assembly processes.
Quality Checks: Inspect parts and completed sub-assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications; report any defects or inconsistencies.
Production Support: Assist with workstation setup, material replenishment, and line preparation to maintain efficient workflow in the pre-assembly area.
Documentation: Accurately complete production records, work orders, and inspection documentation as required.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and ensure safe operation of tools and equipment at all times.

The Assembly Department Supervisor will perform the following duties and has the following experience and skill set:
Supervision of Assembly Operations: Lead and manage the assembly team, ensuring that all injection molded parts are properly assembled,
inspected, and ready for painting or coating. Ensure that assembly operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with established production schedules.
Quality Control & Standards: Maintain and enforce strict quality control processes throughout the assembly line. Ensure all parts meet Toyoda Gosei’s and customer specifications before advancing to painting/coating stages. Address and resolve any quality concerns promptly,
in collaboration with the quality assurance team.
Workplace Safety: Prioritize and enforce a culture of safety within the assembly area. Ensure that safety standards, procedures, and regulations are followed by all team members at all times, and that assembly-related work areas are properly maintained to prevent accidents and injuries.
Continuous Improvement: Foster an environment of continuous improvement within the assembly department. Collaborate with other teams to identify areas for efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and process optimization.
Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other initiatives to enhance the performance of the assembly line.
Training & Development: Oversee the training and development of assembly team members, ensuring they are well-versed in product specifications, assembly processes, safety practices, and quality standards. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and skill growth.
Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with production planning, engineering, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless transitions between the assembly, painting/coating, and shipment processes. Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure timely and accurate delivery of completed parts to customers.
Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to assembly throughput, quality rates, downtime, and other relevant metrics. Take proactive measures to meet or exceed production targets and maintain a high level of operational efficiency.

This individual will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the assembly department, driving efficiency, and ensuring the seamless execution of organizational goals. Primary Job Function:
- The Low-Voltage Switchboard Assembly Manager oversees the factory's production (including EV) and assembly of low-voltage switchgear systems.
- This includes managing operations and personnel involved in the assembly process to ensure efficient production, high-quality output, and timely delivery.
- The role demands strong leadership, operational expertise, and a focus on continuous improvement in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Production Planning: The Assembly Manager is responsible for developing production plans, scheduling work activities, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources, such as materials, tools, and equipment, to meet production targets.
- Quality Control: They are responsible for implementing quality control measures and ensuring that all assembled switchgear systems meet the required standards and specifications. This includes conducting regular inspections, tests, and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
- Process Improvement: The Assembly Manager continually looks for opportunities to improve the assembly process, optimize workflow, and enhance productivity. They may collaborate with engineering teams to implement process enhancements, introduce automation, or streamline operations.
- Team Management: This role involves leading and supervising a team of assembly technicians and operators. The Assembly Manager provides guidance, training, and support to ensure that employees perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Safety and Compliance: They are responsible for enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards. This includes maintaining a safe work environment, conducting safety training, and addressing any safety concerns or incidents.
- Inventory Management: The Assembly Manager oversees inventory levels, ensures the availability of required components and materials, and helps manage stock control to avoid shortages or excesses.
- Collaboration and Communication: They collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to coordinate activities and address any cross-functional issues. Effective communication with stakeholders, such as customers and suppliers, is also essential.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: The Assembly Manager tracks production performance, monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepares regular reports to evaluate productivity, quality, and other relevant metrics. They analyze data and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Experience working in a union shop and familiarity with union labor laws should be preferred.
Job Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of working experience in custom metal fabrication electrical equipment in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read blueprints, bill of material (BOM’s), schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine best methods and sequences of product assembly.
- An effective leader who can help level load the factory and can plan a lookout for 3-4 weeks so that the company’s overhead expenses for overtime in the shop stay within budget.
- Should be a Team Player and an Inclusive Leader.
- Knowledge about hand tools and measuring devices.
- Knowledge about EV products.
- Knowledge of Low Voltage or Medium Voltage Switchgear or components.
- Should have a particularly good understanding of Operational Excellence process improvements.
- Ability to work in a loud environment.
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Certification in Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
KIC is looking for a hands-on Production Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Rancho Bernardo. In this role you will build and assemble components such as probes, shields, cable assemblies, and wiring bundles used in electronics manufacturing equipment.
This is an active production role that involves working with wiring, small electrical assemblies, and moving between workstations throughout the day. Candidates who enjoy hands-on manufacturing work and building physical products as part of a team will thrive in this environment.
What You’ll Do
A typical day may include:

This role leads a multi-site distribution and assembly network and is accountable for driving operational excellence across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Talent. The Senior Director ensures standardized processes, consistent execution, strong financial performance, and best-in-class customer service across all facilities. The Senior Director will take well-established, well-functioning operations and engage in continuous improvement to strive for excellence in all key areas.
This leader will function as a change agent, building high-performing teams, implementing standardized operating procedures (SOPs), and driving Lean process improvements across the network. This role requires a strong cross-functional partnership with Sales, Customer Service, Product Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to ensure operational alignment and customer satisfaction.

Education
