Location: Chicago, Illinois

Salary: $125,000 – $200,000 (DOE)

Schedule: Hybrid (2–3 days in office)

A well-regarded mid-sized Chicago litigation firm is looking to add an Insurance Defense Associate to its growing team.

This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys working on sophisticated litigation matters while being part of a collaborative and supportive team environment. The firm handles a diverse range of defense cases and offers exposure to complex matters that keep the work engaging and intellectually stimulating.

The Role

The position is primarily insurance defense litigation (75%+), including matters such as:

• Personal injury and general tort litigation

• Construction-related claims

• Trucking and transportation cases

• Commercial injury matters

• Insurance coverage analysis and related disputes

Attorneys will play an active role in litigation strategy, deposition practice, motion work, and complex case management.

Requirements

• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience

• Experience handling insurance coverage matters

• Ability to take and defend depositions (including experts)

• Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions

• Minimum of 5 depositions taken or defended

• Licensed to practice in Illinois

Nice to Have

• Trial experience, particularly in medical malpractice or complex litigation matters
