The ED Technician functions under medical direction of the Medical Director and direct supervision of the ED attending physician, with general management by the RN. The ED Technician provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Provides direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the mission and objectives of the hospital in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients and families. The ED Technician will be responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and will report all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED Attending. The ED Technician provides clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida required. Specialty certifications required upon hire: BLS; ACLS. One year Paramedic experience required. Demonstrated clinical skills in pre-hospital and critical care transport preferred. High School Diploma or GED, graduate from an approved Paramedic Program.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
Licensure/Certification/Registration: EMT-Paramedic certification in the State of Florida.
