Under supervision, enforce all pool regulations, perform rescues, instruct swimming classes in beginning through advanced skills, maintain pool area and equipment, and does related work as required.
Essential Functions
The employee must have the ability to:
- Swim with proficiency and endurance.
- Meet standards of swimming competency as established by the American Red Cross Aquatic Standards and the Fontana Community Services Department.
- Prevent dangerous situations, recognize emergencies, and take appropriate action.
- Effectively enforce pool rules and policies.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with both staff and pool patrons.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Performs any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer, and

Working Conditions: Position requires prolonged standing, sitting, walking on level or unleveled and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. Incumbents may be required to lift, carry and/or push objects weighing 25 pounds or more. This position requires near and far vision for reading written documents and in the observation of participants during activities. Acute hearing is also required in providing customer service to public and /or assistance in facility, classroom, or outdoors. Experience and Training Guidelines
A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. The employee must have the knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of water safety, rescue methods, lifesaving techniques, and first aid as applied to accidents in the water and surrounding pool areas.
- Techniques and methods of swimming instruction for all age groups.
- The incumbent must be at least sixteen (16) years of age to be a Water Safety Instructor in accordance with the American Red Cross certification programs.
- Anyone under the age of eighteen (18) and still in High School must have a valid work permit.
Licenses/Certifications: Possession of, and continuously throughout employment, the following certifications established by the American Red Cross:
- Lifeguard and First Aid Training
- CPR/AED for Lifeguards or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

The City of Renton is hiring part-time Recreation Leaders (Levels 1, 2, and 3) to support our Youth Sports Programs in multiple areas. Key responsibilities include implementing and overseeing programs and events, delivering excellent customer service to participants and their families, maintaining facilities and supplies, and sports program instruction and assisting participants. Recreation Leaders will also handle site supervision, program setup, upkeep, and provide first aid as needed. This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, including in inclement weather, across various recreation facilities

Programs generally are located at the Highlands Neighborhood Center or Renton Community Center. Programs and shift hours are dependent on program and time of year but availability on nights and weekends is required.
Hourly Rates:
Recreation Leader 1: $21.57 per hour
Recreation Leader 2: $23.00 per hour
Recreation Leader 3: $26.00 per hour
Placement at the Recreation Leader 1, 2, or 3 level, is dependent on years of experience and qualifications.
SUPERVISION:
Reports To: Recreation Supervisor, Recreation Program Coordinator, or Designee

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support to, and collaborate with, Recreation Coordinator and other city staff as needed to assist with planning, preparing, and implementing recreation programs, specifically youth sports programs.
- Lead, instruct, and teach participants using excellent sportsmanship and inclusivity.
- Provide each participant the opportunity to succeed and grow their social skills through recreational opportunities.
- Understand, explain and up-hold program and facility expectations.
- Ensure program/facility rules, policies and procedures are followed; maintain and enforce safety standards.
- Responsible for reporting all participant behavioral problems and incidents to appropriate staff and supervisor.
- Provide attendance and facility reports as required.
- Attend and supervise program participants during field trips and special events.
- Provide a positive attitude toward program participants and staff; encourage and serve as a positive role model for program participants.

- Keep area tidy, organized, and welcoming to patrons.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Director for Competitive Sports and Competitive Sport Coordinator with the organization, supervision, and facilitation of Tech Wreck Summer Programming. Plan, organize, and implement fitness programs. Provide group fitness classes, instructional classes, or personal training. These classes may include activity course sections, aerobic exercise, weight training, dance, martial arts, flexibility, and other various conditional formats. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff, students, vendors, and visitors.

- Cardiac Cath Lab Job Details:
- Scheduled in accordance with facility policy
- Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
- Minimum 1 years of experience acceptable
- Work in cardiac catheterization lab with 2 labs performing approximately 10 cases daily
- Required to take 7-9 call days monthly with at least 1 weekend
- Must have cardiac catheterization lab experience
- Advanced skills needed include emergency medication knowledge
- Perform procedures including LHC, PCI, TAVR, PPM, Impella, and IABP
- Work with GE x-ray equipment
- Use Maclab and Meditech documentation systems
- RN certification required
