VEGETATION MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN WPB Field Station 4412BR Job Description JOB SUMMARY AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Controls aquatic and terrestrial vegetation to support the District's water management and natural resource protection missions using a variety of control techniques.

These techniques include the proper mixing, calculating and applying of a variety of approved herbicides according to product label directions and in accordance with the rules and regulations as set forth by Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and County regulations and policies governing the application of herbicides.

Vegetation management activities will also include the operation of mechanical harvesting equipment.

Operates powered and manual equipment relative to vegetation management such as airboats, all-terrain vehicles, midsize tractors, outboard motorboats, aquatic vegetation harvesters (e.g., Truxor® amphibious machine, Conver® harvester, tow boats) chemical spray trucks, backpack sprayers including transporting, loading, and offloading of equipment.

Fills sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas.

Mixes herbicides and/or algaecides for application to vegetation or algae.

Connects hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities.

Starts motors and engages machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment.

Lifts, pushes, and swings nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas.

Plans and calculates appropriate herbicide rates and treatment area/volume for a variety of aquatic and terrestrial application scenarios.

Maintains awareness of weather conditions, environmentally sensitive areas, drift potential, obstructions, and herbicide label restrictions when planning and implementing control activities.

Recognizes environmental hazards before applying herbicides.

Operates, maintains, and calibrates spray and safety equipment as required to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools.

Inspects and monitors District owned rights of ways, canals, levees, easements and other properties for undesirable vegetation growth and invasive/nuisance plant species, including species identified as priorities for rapid response control.

Prepares and maintains vegetation management reports and daily logs using District data collection software including but not limited to treatment schedules and mapping of planned control activities.

Posts warning signs in treated areas to inform the public of any water use or re-entry restrictions.

Uses a map and/or GPS to identify location and record, reference or retrieve vegetation management data.

When weather conditions do not permit spraying of herbicides, must perform all other duties as assigned.

Maintains plant identification skills for common invasive/nuisance vegetation and ability to identify priority species in field settings.

Ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures.

Incumbent must have a background and practical work experience in vegetation management, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to plan and manage workloads, enthusiasm and temperament for dealing with harsh wetland field conditions, and willingness and commitment to actively contribute to a collaborative teamwork effort.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg is a premier medical facility found in a town known for its ranching history and rich in Texas culture in Kingsville, Texas. Licensed for 100 beds, the hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center general acute care facility offering complete Medical and Surgical Services, including Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Skilled Nursing, as well as Emergency, Intensive Care, Cardiac, and Comprehensive Diagnostic Services serving the residents of Kleberg, Brooks, Kennedy, and southern Nueces counties.

Summary:

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The CT Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The CT Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. The Technologist is expected to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management.   • Performs examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the Manager’s license(s), certification(s), and/or documented competencies.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required.
  • Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
  • Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed.
  • Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel;
    does appropriate follow-up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required

Experience

  • 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
  • Basic computer experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • One of the following primary modality certifications is required:
    • Radiography (R) by ARRT
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology by ARRT or NMTCB
  • Computed Tomography (CT) by ARRT or NMTCB preferred
  • State Licensure required
    • Texas: MRT by TMB
    • Louisiana: LRT (R), (N), or (F) by LSRTBE
  • BLS required

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides direct supervision of a group of children aged 5-12 in summer day camp. Providing a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.  Full-time and part-time shifts are available. Summer camp season lasts from mid-June to mid-August. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Supervises a group of children with a creative, fun, positive attitude.

2. Implement inclusive program activities and curriculum that are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate.

3. Adheres to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards.

4. Attends staff meetings and trainings.

5. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting.
  • Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.
  • At least 16 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications before the start date.
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check. Child Abuse is not tolerated when considering candidate for employment. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
