The ED Technician functions under medical direction of the Medical Director and direct supervision of the ED attending physician, with general management by the RN. The ED Technician provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Provides direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the mission and objectives of the hospital in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients and families. The ED Technician will be responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and will report all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED Attending. The ED Technician provides clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida required. Specialty certifications required upon hire: BLS; ACLS. One year Paramedic experience required. Demonstrated clinical skills in pre-hospital and critical care transport preferred. High School Diploma or GED, graduate from an approved Paramedic Program.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose

Licensure/Certification/Registration: EMT-Paramedic certification in the State of Florida.

What You’ll Do:

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care and as defined in the state Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Administer non-complex therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to clients with relatively stable conditions
• Instruct, motivate and assist clients in learning and improving functional activities
• Observe clients progress and response to treatment and report finding to the physical therapist
• Assist in preparing clinical notes and progress reports documenting physical therapy treatments performed and submit them for review into the clinical record
• Report any changes in the client’s condition to the qualified supervising Physical Therapist and Director of Nursing/ Director of Therapy. Changes in the plan of care may be made following authorization, instruction and supervision by the Physical Therapist
• Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate’s degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice
• At least one (1) years’ experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant (preferred)
• Complies and maintains current CPR certification.
• Ability to make home visits and provide nursing care in the home environment
• Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance

Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologists will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures. Maintains radiation safety protocol while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used in the department. Completes daily logs and periodic tests performed as required by the license.   does appropriate follow-up.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required

Experience

• 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred
• Basic computer experience required
