Summary

The Territory Sales Representative is a key member of our Domestic Sales team and is responsible for driving revenue growth across multiple channels, including Pilates and yoga studios, specialty retail, run and dancewear shops, spas, health clubs, department stores, and e‑commerce partners.


This role supports and collaborates closely with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and independently manages accounts across the Tri‑State and New England territory. Chief Operator

Plasser American – Danbury, CT

Plasser American is making the world a safer place by providing non-destructive testing services and products to the railroad industry. The Operator, “On the Road”, position which requires extended travel including several months at a time without the possibility to go home and do make every effort to get our teams home whenever possible at a reasonable interval.  

Operators are considered to be a very important position to hold as he is responsible for the safe operation on rail and on road as well as the preventive, actual and post maintenance or repairs of the RFD vehicle.  Operators work very closely and as a Team with the Chief Operator both responsible to minimize downtime and deliver the RFD service according to schedule. 

Operators represents the company image as much as any other Team members. We expect the team to act professionally and care for the image when servicing customers.

Operator is also responsible for any identified safety events or obstacles at all time along with the Chief Operator. Operators attitude, behavior and communication skills must be to the highest standard to create an environment of trust and respect.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operator reports directly to the Field Manager. In his absence, will report directly to other Field Manager in place or Manager of UT RFD Services as a last resort. The Operator will follow Chief Operator guidance while in operation.
  • Operator will assist Chief Operator in marking the rail defects according to set standards;
  • Will remain well versed with a professional attitude towards colleagues, customers and general public reflecting a positive image for the company;
  • Shall ensure that all railroad and highway safety as well as operating procedures are maintained and applied to the best of his capacity;
  • Shall be accountable, professional, drive safety and quality as the number one priority;
  • Shall be open to changes in the workplace and apply directives according to set standards established;
  • Adhere and execute instructions in reference books and customer playbooks;
  • Shall partner with Chief Operator to maintain a high standard of maintenance, including cleanliness and 5S on trucks as much interior as exterior;
  • Produce all necessary paperwork including but not limited to, elog reports, maintenance reports, trip reports, fuel reports, etc.
  • Shall perform Pre and Post-trip maintenance every working day, to include carriage, hy-rail and truck.  Regularly grease, lube, tighten bolts, replace worn parts under the supervision and directives of the Chief Operator;
  • Will ensure validity of any IFTA Sticker registration and insurance and reports to Field manager as directed,
  • Is the overall responsible of the vehicle and its maintenance;
  • Ensures Logbooks, DOT papers including Timesheets are maintained;
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations including hours of serviced regulation.
  • Will coach, train, protect and assist new employees, Operators, in the wanted work environment established;
  • Maintain controlled expenses as low as possible;
  • Complete weekly expense reports, timesheets, inventory and general truck condition (repairs needed current and preventive);
  • Operator understand that truck is to be parked at same lodging location as the Chief Operator every night unless otherwise specified.

 EXPERIENCE

General Scope: Fluid Power Engineer to support Engineering group. Fluid power engineer applies fluid power theory and related knowledge to design, test and troubleshoot operational mobile hydraulic systems and applications.

Position Summary: 

  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products used on maintenance of way equipment for the railroad industry.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of fundamental and advanced Fluid power principles and ability to apply knowledge in the design of complex hydraulic/pneumatic circuits in an OEM environment.
  • Complete fluid power systems experience with all levels of hydraulic/pneumatic components from pumps, motors, valves to actuators.
  • Significant experience in mobile/construction equipment hydraulic/pneumatic system design, and development.
  • Study, research and analyze customer specifications, manuals and other data to assist in creating machine work orders.
  • Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
  • Plans, schedules and coordinates the preparation of hydraulic/pneumatic projects to meet deadlines.
  • Sizing and selecting hydraulic and pneumatic components and provide specifications to Planning/Purchasing department.
  • Uses EPLAN Fluid for the automated design and documentation of circuits in fluid power installations in hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling and lubrication complying with current standards such as ISO 1219.
  • Ability to systematically solve hydraulic/pneumatic related problems and perform root cause analysis.
  • Supervise the detailed design and drafting of the hydraulic/pneumatic components and installation drawings with cad designers.
  • Keeps informed of new methods and practices in system designs and components.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • May require some traveling to customer job site to evaluate problems and report back to management with findings.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills and self-starter.
  • Good organizational skills, and ability to independently manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to interact with various department and provide support to product line, purchasing, production, technical support and sales support.

Education: 

As a minimum require a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field with at least 2-5 years of experience in the field of mobile hydraulic design. Experience to consist of relevant product design or development of hydraulic components or motion control systems.

Certified fluid power hydraulic specialist (CFHPS), NFPA (National Fluid Power Association) or other fluid power organizations certificate is preferred.

In addition to having the technical qualifications, a fluid power engineer must be a good team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The individual must be able to think practically and authoritatively, able to accommodate the company's deadlines, budget, and other resources to make informed decisions for their projects.

 

Knowledge: Incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Engineering.

Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:

  • Knowledge of the current ISO and ANSI (Y14) standards.
  • Working knowledge of the metric system and geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Familiar with weldments, and machining operation.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • EIT certification will be considered as a PLUS.
  • Motivated and self-starter with the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as Calculus and modern Algebra.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • AREMA, AAR, S.A.E. membership helpful but not required.

General Scope:

The Manufacturing Engineer's responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.

To be successful as a Manufacturing Engineer you should be able to work effectively within a team and have a high level of technical expertise. An outstanding Manufacturing Engineer should be able to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

Manufacturing Engineer Position Summary:

- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data to better understand future requirements needed for manufacturing process.
- Analyze, plan, and develop detailed layouts for workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products.
- Responsible for the development of manufacturing methods to produce products in an efficient manner.
- Establish routings for new products and maintain existing routings in accordance with approved operational techniques.
- Leads and/or participates in the review process on products with manufacturing cost over runs including bill of material, availability or proper tooling/fixturing, machine capability/capacity.
- Reviews routings, inspection procedures, bills of material, packaging, and prints for consistency, compliance with current manufacturing practices, and possible errors.

- Design and recommend layouts and product flows in the production shops.

- Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
- Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
- Project ownership including project initiation, pre-project planning and project engineering with appropriate analysis in alignment with corporate strategies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for manufacturing methods.
- Assists in coordinating equipment maintenance and repair services and ensuring that manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.

- Conduct engineering assignments to develop new methods, tooling and machine concepts, cost estimates, and/or to resolve engineering problems involved in manufacturing of components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.

Manufacturing Engineer Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering required. 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred. (With comprehensive experience less formal education may be acceptable.)

Manufacturing Engineer Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:
