Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced-level setup and operation of milling, turning, and grinding machines.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of related machining experience.

SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE

The Metallurgist is a key factory staff member responsible for analyzing raw materials and finished products, overseeing and monitoring heat treatment and metal finishing processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to select proper alloys for specific applications, identifying metallurgical defects and implementing corrective actions to meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the E&A supervisor or group leader, the Welder II will perform all functions under this job description. This includes all necessary functions to maintain a clean and safe shop. The Welder II will comply with all Company and Safety Policies and procedures in the performance of assigned duties. The Welder II perform tack welding and finish welding of piping systems utilizing both SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW welding procedures (certification to CCC procedures required). The Welder II will weld small vessels and structural components utilizing SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW welding processes. The Welder II will perform these procedures to meet CCC certified procedures (These may include ASME, API, AWS, and ANSI code certification). Materials may include carbon steel, stainless steel and various other nickel-based alloys.
 
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

• Able to back-gouge using carbon-air-arc or plasma for full penetration welds
• Clean and polish welds to company design specifications
• Able to pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds, on both pipe and vessels
• Works from drawings/sketches to determine weld size, weld location and weld process
• Inspects own work to ensure compliance to drawings and weld procedures and makes necessary repairs
• Assist with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection and complete appropriate documentation
• Operate Fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane
• Assist in other areas of the plant as assigned
• Complying with company policy
• Material handling/movement
   

Qualifications

• A High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required (Concentration in Welding is preferred)
• An associate degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred

Position Responsibilities:

• Obtain work package from the ready-to-work rack, work board, or assigned by Team Lead, or run previously set-up jobs by reviewing tie-ins from prior operators.

• Operate a computer to access information from prints, sketches, drawings, layout documents, and Boeing (BAC) specifications.

• Perform safety checks on machines, ensuring the area is clear of obstacles, power switches are off, and safety guards are installed.

• Move heavy materials, equipment, tools, and dies to the work area using stackers, Kalamar, die loaders, or overhead cranes, asking for assistance as needed.

• Check steam lines for cracks or cuts and verify o-rings are properly seated prior to hookup.

• Preheat dies and punches using electricity or steam, and verify temperature accuracy for hot dies with a temperature stick or pyrometer.

• Determine machine setup by reviewing work orders, tooling usage instructions, and die setup charts, making adjustments as required.

• Load and secure dies into the press, checking for defects and torquing as necessary.

• Examine tools, dies, and fixtures for damage, separating them using appropriate handling procedures.

• Set up press cycle programs using control panels or manual switches to adjust height, stroke, pressure, and cycle time.

• Develop patterns when necessary, cutting and tailoring materials like fiberglass and graphite to die requirements.

• Perform pull-outs on various types of metal and alloy tubes using a hydraulic tube pull-out machine.

• Verify that materials are free from burrs and debris, using hand deburring tools and denatured alcohol prior to forming operations.

• Consult with Team Lead and other personnel (e.g., engineering, planning, inspection) on process or job-related issues as required.

• Maintain a written tie-in book or electronic communication to coordinate with other shifts and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

• Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

About the Role:

The Sheet Metal Welder is responsible for fabricating, modifying, installing, and repairing sheet metal components used in a chemical plant setting. This role requires advanced welding and metal-fabrication skills, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work within operations that include hazardous materials, confined spaces, and process-safety protocols..

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certificate preferred
• 2+ years sheet metal welding and fabrication experience (chemical or industrial manufacturing environment strongly preferred)
• MIG/TIG proficiency; AWS certification preferred
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and plant schematics
• Valid site-specific safety training preferred
• Ability to safely operate shop equipment (shears, press brake, rollers, saws, grinders, etc.)
• Knowledge of corrosion-resistant metals and welding procedures suitable for chemical exposure environments
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work in industrial conditions (heights, confined spaces, varying temperatures)

Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and job specifications
• Fabricate, weld, install, and repair sheet metal systems, ductwork, hoods, guards, platforms, and equipment components
• Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and specialty alloys commonly used in chemical plant applications
• Cut, bend, roll, and shape sheet metal using fabrication machinery and hand tools
• Conduct hot-work in accordance with plant permit systems and fire-watch requirements
• Prepare surfaces and complete welding and fabrication tasks with precision
• Inspect completed welds and fabrications to ensure compliance with standards and tolerances
• Adhere to chemical plant safety standards, including lock-out/tag-out, respiratory protection, hot-work permitting, confined-space entry, and hazard communication
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure safe handling of materials and tools
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, reliability, and operations personnel
• Document work performed and report issues promptly

The Lead Machinist is responsible for precision machining of components used in the repair, maintenance, and construction of high-speed assembly and prototype equipment. This role supports manufacturing operations by producing high-quality custom and replacement parts while maintaining strict tolerance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate conventional toolroom equipment, including mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, chop saws, broaches, and related machinery
• Perform custom machining and repair work to support manufacturing and maintenance operations
• Build, rebuild, and modify machinery and components for high-speed assembly equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on assembly equipment and fabricate replacement spare parts as needed
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and sketches
• Produce clear, accurate sketches and measurements for part fabrication
• Machine parts to close tolerances (±0.0005")
• Perform calibrations and ensure dimensional accuracy of machined components
• Cut, shape, and fabricate tools, fixtures, and components
• Work with ferrous, non-ferrous, and synthetic materials and alloys

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ongoing education or training related to machining or engineering preferred

Experience & Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Proven ability to machine precision parts to tight tolerances (±0.0005")
• Experience using conventional toolroom equipment (mill, lathe, surface grinder, etc.)
• Familiarity with machining a wide range of materials, including metals and synthetics
• CNC mill and/or lathe operation or setup experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Must own standard machinist hand tools, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, edge finders, squares, scales, and basic hand tools, along with a lockable toolbox
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally during the shift
