Summary
Accurately assesses residents' health status as well as their educational and environmental needs on admission and on an ongoing basis. Remains aware about and communicates to the appropriate interdisciplinary team (IDT) member any significant change in condition. Accurately documents all assessments. Develops dynamic care plans based upon the identified needs of the residents through an interdisciplinary approach that includes physicians, residents, families, and other IDT members. Reviews and revises the care plan as the resident's needs, problems, and goals change. Communicates the plan to the appropriate IDT members along with the residents and families. Accurately documents the care plan on admission, cognition change, or regulatory requirements for care planning. Identifies necessary nursing interventions relevant to the plan of care which includes nursing orders, physician orders, residents/families educational and environmental needs. Interventions such as medication administration, treatments, and IV fluid administrations are accomplished in a safe and timely manner. Documents all interventions accurately and timely. Uses critical thinking skills when dealing with residents' change in condition. Notifies the physician timely using the SBARR as the communication tool. Maintains composure during and handles any crisis situation such as family dissatisfaction, staff disputes, or inclement weather in a calm and professional manner. Monitors the care of the residents closely to see that the care plan is being delivered effectively. Identifies problem areas and uses the QAPI process to actively address the situation for immediate problem resolution. Remains knowledgeable about the status of the resident to quickly identify behavioral changes or other untoward signs or symptoms. Assists in answering call lights and assists with resident care such as ADLs. Completes twelve hours, at a minimum, of offerings related to nursing. Upholds commitment to remaining current in best nursing practices through knowledge of Bethesda's policies and self-study. May be assigned other duties as appropriate.

- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a registered nurse
- Current RN license in the state you will be working
- CPR/AED certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment

Med Surg unit. Total of 37 beds. The Pulmonary Unit provides care to patients with general medical conditions and patients with respiratory illnesses. The 4100/4200 Units specialize in the care of respiratory and general medical issues. This unit has the capacity to care for ventilator patients and telemetry monitoring, as well as other high-acuity respiratory conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides high-quality, patient-centered clinical care
Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e., physical, psychological, educational, and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological/developmental age of the patient).
Communicates and documents the assessment of the patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
Develops and documents plan of care, treatment, and services which are individualized and appropriate for the patient's needs, strengths, limitations, and goals.
Complies with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, including policies governing safety, medication administration, and documentation.
Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.
Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to the Nursing Research Department, utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States.

The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is an international leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education and community outreach. It is the only cancer center in Missouri and within a 240-mile radius of St. Louis to hold the prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute and membership in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Division 11800 is a 32-bed single occupancy unit that provides care to oncology patients who are hospitalized for cancer treatment and symptom management, including support for immunosuppression and/or neutropenia. The care is moderate to high acuity. Care includes high complexity interventions serving patients on both the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Oncology services. The presence of two services provides broad oncology experiences for the nurse. Care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team including oncology nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, coordinators, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy and psycho-social support. Professional nursing growth and development are expected, encouraged and supported by the Oncology Nursing Fellowship Program for new graduate nurses, the Career Ladder Program, the Oncology Nursing Society's (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course, and educational preparation for the Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) program.

Orthopedic/Neuro Spine and Acute Rehabilitation at Missouri Baptist offers a 34-bed unit for patients undergoing joint replacements, back surgeries and other orthopedic procedures with. Included in this nursing area is a 10-bed Rehabilitation Unit which provides services between acute and long-term care. Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge, experience, and the evaluate-and-treat process. The RT II is responsible for delivering patient care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations. The majority of time is in critical care areas with protocol ventilator management, significant independent decision-making and self direction. In addition, to patient care delivery, the RT II is responsible for patient, family/support system education, coordination of activities, staff development, and professional and self-developmental activities. The RT II is responsible for providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of population specific needs. The RT II addresses the biological, emotional, and developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family education needs when providing care to the patient. Also participates in the education of new employees and others.

Provides Customer Service
* Completion of patient care, documentation and education
