The Role

Position Summary
Perform duties in alignment with requirements set forth by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and Environmental Protection Agency to protect public health and the environment by ensuring the integrity of the City's wastewater and storm water systems. Responsibilities include maintaining system operability, minimizing system overflow occurrences, and protecting the investment made in the infrastructure by being responsive to customer concerns and/or system failures. Essential Duties
Inspects, installs, connects, maintains, cleans, operates, tests, and repairs all appurtenances associated with the City's wastewater and storm water systems as they relate to residential, commercial and industrial customers. Maintains access to system manholes, taps, and pipelines.
Responds to complaints regarding illicit discharges, plugged sewers, flooding and odors. Assesses and evaluates situation, explains findings to leadworker or supervisor. Contacts business owners and residents in area where services may be interrupted and explains when repairs will be completed.
Maintains stormwater detention facilities, water quality ponds, and urban streams. Performs inspections, riparian area maintenance, vegetation and debris removal, channel management and bank stabilization.
Uses computerized television inspection equipment to analyze and rate facilities for consideration of needed future maintenance.
Incumbents may be assigned primary responsibility for the Vector Control Program. Responds to customer concerns and baits for rats in the sanitary sewer system, and addresses trapping needs for nutria, opossum, and other mammals in the surface water piping system and urban stream areas of Corvallis.
Responds to emergency calls, including after-hours response within required timeframe. Position may involve working overtime and on weekends as needed.
Maintains job-site safety for co-workers and the general public including traffic control and minimization of hazardous conditions.
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment used in the wastewater and storm water systems.Identifies system needs and assists with planning and scheduling maintenance and repairs.
Maintains wastewater and storm water system operation and maintenance records and reports with the use of various computerized maintenance management systems. Maintains daily records and reports pertaining to activities, equipment and materials utilized, consistent with local, County, State and federal requirements.
Coordinates with other Public Works work groups and provides services, data and information as needed for successful completion of work and/or projects. Provides project acceptance for new infrastructure and ensures integrity of wastewater/storm water system infrastructure.

Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of work experience in wastewater or surface water maintenance fields. Experience must include installation, repair, and maintenance activities associated with this type of infrastructure.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Journey level skills in underground pipeline work, plumbing, equipment operation, and construction.
Basic knowledge of engineering concepts and the ability to apply these concepts and construction practices to ensure the integrity of the system. Ability to read blue prints and interpret maps.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for manufacturing deviations, investigations, and CAPAs.
• Drive implementation of process monitoring and control strategies.
• Lead technology transfer activities from clients or internal process development teams into GMP manufacturing.
• Develop and review technology transfer plans, process descriptions, risk assessments, and gap analyses.
• Ensure successful scale-up and scale-out of manufacturing processes across CDMO facilities, as applicable.

Required Qualifications
• PhD or MS in Biochemical Engineering, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• 10–15+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or process development.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in MSAT, technical operations, or process development.
• Strong experience in cell therapy manufacturing (e.g., CAR-T, TCR-T, NK cells, stem cell therapies).
• Experience working within a CDMO environment strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of:
• Cell culture and expansion technologies
• Viral vector transduction or gene editing workflows
• Closed and automated cell therapy manufacturing platforms
• Cryopreservation and fill-finish processes

Job Description: High-Throughput Screening Research Associate II, III (Biodesigner II, III)
Responsibilities:
- Perform massively parallel reporter assays and high-throughput screens across diverse cellular contexts using cellular and molecular readouts.
- Develop and execute molecular biology workflows such as vector design and cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, RT-PCR, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing.
- Support cell culture activities and experiments in multiple cell lines, at small and large scales.
- Design and execute cell-based assays (AAV/lentiviral transduction, transfection, flow cytometry, immunostaining, and other plate reader assays).
- Engineer and characterize cell-based systems using synthetic biology tools and techniques.
- Conduct and troubleshoot experiments, independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to optimize screening throughput, sensitivity, and specificity.
- Proactively troubleshoot technical issues and recommend potential corrective actions based on personal observations and literature searches.
- Prepare summaries of data and present internally to colleagues and management.
- Draft SOPs, follow protocols, diligently document experimental data in lab notebooks, and organize and maintain electronic work records.
- Author scientific reports and data summaries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, bridging early discovery with high-throughput screens to nominate and optimize candidates for further characterization.
Qualifications:

- Mammalian cell culture experience (culturing, transfecting and transducing cells, and DNA/RNA purification from cells).

The Senior Scientist will play a key role in the development, optimization, transfer, qualification, monitoring, and execution of molecular analytical methods supporting gene therapy process development and/or Manufacturing. Education/ Qualifications:
