PRIMARY PURPOSE

CNA is hiring for multiple Security Guards (full time), and for different shifts. The Security Guard is part of the Chief Security Office (CSO) and ensures compliance with established security policies, site-specific performance and procedures, and adhere to post orders. The three shifts CNA is hiring for is 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 2:00 - 10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Eastern Time.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND / OR DUTIES

2. Ensure compliance with established security policies, site-specific performance and procedures, and adhere to post orders.
   
   
3. Manage entry and exit points, screen visitors and employees, and control the movement of people and vehicles.
   
   
4. Conduct regular patrols to monitor the facility, identify potential security risks, and deter unauthorized access.
   
   
5. Respond to security alarms, fire alarms, and other incidents while following established protocols.
   
   
6. Document security incidents, visitor logs, preparing reports for management and other relevant information.
   
   
7. Greet visitors and employees in a professional and welcoming manner, verify identities, grant access to specific areas and issue visitor identification badges.
   
   
8. Answer questions and assist guests and employees.
   
   
9. Open/close, lock/unlock sensitive rooms and areas.
   
   
10. Conduct personal sweeps in closed areas; monitor prohibited items in certain areas.
    
    
11. Correspond and interact with corporate security personnel regarding orders and execution.
    
    
12. Protect classified materials and ensure proper handling and storage according to regulations.
    
    
13. Act as a first responder in emergency situations, assisting and coordinating with other emergency personnel.
    
    
14. Explain security procedures and report incidents.
    
    
15. Identify and resolve security issues, respond to emergencies, and make sound judgments.
    
    
16. Accurately maintain records and follow procedures.
    
    
17. Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and other relevant parties regarding security matters.
    
    
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
    
    

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience or equivalent, with high-level security experience on DOD or military site preferred. Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certification preferred.

3. Skills: Familiarity with security protocols, emergency procedures, and relevant regulations including DISS (Defense Information System for Security). Meticulous attention to detail. Basic computer skills to operate security systems and prepare reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate and explain dynamic situations coherently. Understand accountability and lead by example.

4. Clearance: Must have a current active secret clearance; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance preferred.

5. Other: Ability to lift up to 35Ibs and move office equipment. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Ability to work a flexible schedule. This position is not eligible for telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements.

The Role: Responsible for assisting guests, maintaining public safety, controlling access to restricted areas, and preventing unauthorized items from entering the venue.

Job Functions:

• Assist Security Manager to recruit, interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline department staff for efficient control of the department.
• Supervise and direct security staff to implement the security plan to ensure safety, care, customer service, and efficiency.
• Provide guidance and lead improvements and implement adjustments as necessary.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous and direct manner.
• Investigate and resolve issues and customer complaints.
• Circulate among guests to preserve safety, order and to protect property.
• Patrol premises to detect problems, threats, and prevent unauthorized entry through aisles, doors, gates, and fences.
• Conduct searches of guests by physical pat downs and/or metal detector wands and conduct bag searches to prevent weapons and other unauthorized items from entering venue.
• Check tickets and passes to ensure that guests are seated in the appropriate reserved seating areas.
• Assists guests by directing them to the appropriate seating areas and other venue amenities, answering questions about the venue or event, and helping to solve guest issues as they arise.
• Warn guests of rule infractions and apprehend or evict violators from the venue.
• Assist medics to reach and remove guests in need of help.
• Complete written reports of incidence occurring during each event.
• Assist with post-event cleanup in the pavilion.
• Work in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions.
• Other tasks assigned by the Security Manager or Security Supervisor.
• Always display a positive customer service attitude.

Qualifications:

• Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, standing.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Experience with supervising a team of individuals in a group effort.
• Live event security/Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.
• Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
• Ability to independently make good decisions within proper policy and procedures and use tact and diplomacy.
• A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to express oneself in a professional, clear and concise manner.
• Must present a well-groomed appearance.

Licenses or Certifications:

• PSO certification/re-certification offered if not possessed or valid upon hire
• CA Guard Card a plus
• First Aid/CPR/AED desirable

As an OIC Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch customer service through telephone interactions with customers and tenants, supporting security operations via radio communications, and monitoring video surveillance systems. Primary Responsibilities:

• Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone and radio calls.

Security Guards are responsible for conducting a variety of security-related duties and must be familiar with current federal and state laws, and USCG policies, practices, and standard operating procedures. Security Guards are responsible for controlling entry/exit posts; roving patrols; control, issuance, and storage of keys; alarm and fire system monitoring; enforcing building rules and regulations; prohibiting unauthorized access; responding to incidents, accidents, injuries, and/or illnesses; and other additional duties as required by supervision/management.

Applicants selected will be subject to a background/security investigation and must be drug-free and remain drug-free during the period of employment. This position reports directly to their assigned shift supervisor.

Physical requirements:

• Employees must be able to stand for prolonged periods in performance of their gate guard duty.

• Shall possess binocular vision, correctable to 20/20 (Snellen) and shall not be colorblind.
• Shall be capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 20 feet without benefit of artificial hearing devices.

Work environment:

• Work is typically performed in both an uncontrolled and controlled environment; as such, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
