Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving production processes, increasing efficiency, and supporting quality and reliability initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive process improvements to increase throughput, reduce scrap, and improve equipment reliability
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and standard work
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and DMAIC
- Design and improve tooling, fixtures, and automation systems to enhance efficiency and ergonomics
- Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to ensure process capability and product quality
- Support new product launches, including PPAP, FMEA, and process validation
- Optimize plant layouts and workflows to reduce waste and improve productivity
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5–10 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and GD&T
- Familiarity with automation, vision systems, ERP, and ISO/QS standards is a plus
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
