The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Job Summary:

In collaboration with the Medical Director and other clinical staff provides patient care to assist in all aspects of medical practice. This practitioner assists with patient care management, executes administrative and clinical procedures with the scope of the role. Competence in the field also requires that a medical assistant adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize and respond to emergencies, and demonstrate professional characteristics.

Essential Functions: _

• Assists the Medical Director and other clinical staff with the completion of patient intake processes.
• Completes all clinical documentation as required by the physician, lead nurse, RN supervisor and Clinical/Program Director.

4. Contributes to creating, tracking, and updating annual goals and objectives for Correctional Services.

Functions as supervising physician and delegating prescriptive authority for advanced practice providers; consults for nursing leaders. 6. Acts as a key connector between jail physicians and Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) system, Homeless Outreach Medical Services (HOMES) program, specialty clinics, emergency department, and inpatient units.

Creates robust internal controls to ensure compliance with state/federal laws, accreditation requirements, and health plan guidelines. 8. Supports the creation and rollout of the Correctional Health orientation program, health education initiatives, and wellness programs.
9. Supervises the Associate Director of Performance Improvement in managing the Correctional Health quality program. Reviews and refines job designs, processes, and workflows to boost effectiveness, output, and efficiency in line with departmental goals.
10. Aids in physician recruitment efforts and spearheads retention strategies for Correctional Health providers.

Unit Description: The cancer center nurse provides safe nursing care for patients in the Reddy Cancer Center by demonstrating nursing knowledge through the application of the nursing process specific to data collection, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
