Raytheon’s Apertures and RF Department is seeking a Principal Antenna Design Engineer to join the Radome & Apertures team in McKinney, Texas.

The candidate will support state-of-the-art ultra-wideband phased array antennas, individual antennas, and RF Low Observables (LO) within the Company. The selected candidate will work with various teams of engineers and scientists with backgrounds in AESAs, Antennas, Radomes, Computational Electromagnetics Modeling (CEM), RF Test, Mechanical, Structural and Thermal analysis, Material Science, Process and Manufacturing Engineering and survivable antenna technology.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for the hands-on design and realization of LO antennas, phased array antennas and passive RF components.

  • Use computational electromagnetic analysis software to design and predict performance on various types of antennas and apertures (spiral, sinuous, Vivaldi, patch, slot, horn, ultra-wideband tightly coupled dipole arrays, etc.).

  • Exhibit exceptionally high level of innovation, creativity, and initiative.

  • Support customer programs through modeling and simulation of LO antennas or RF components/systems and leading teams that perform these functions.

  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems involving antenna/sensor-based applications such as radar, electronic warfare, electronic attack, electronic support measures, communications, geolocation, direction finding, etc.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

  • Mentor and guide more junior engineers and technicians in the design, build, and test phases of projects and programs.

  • Work with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, systems, etc.

  • Participate in and guide the testing of RF hardware for required performance metrics: VSWR, insertion loss, gain, polarization, RCS.

  • This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in McKinney, TX.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience.

  • Engineering experience to include any combination of the following:

    • Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction, prediction, measurement, and analysis & simulation.

    • Design, fabrication, and test of conformal antennas, apertures, and passive RF components (i.e. radiating elements, radomes, power dividers, couplers, transitions, multi-layer board designs, Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSSs), etc.).

    • Designing, fabricating, and testing ultra-wideband phased array antennas such as Tightly Couple Dipole Arrays (TCDA), Vivaldi, Sliced Notch, Planar Ultra-wideband Modular Arrays (PUMA).

  • Experience with RCS analysis tools such as X-Patch, SENTRi, FEKO, HFSS, CST or other company specific CEM analysis packages.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

RTA employs 150 administrative and operational staff out of our Annapolis Junction location.


JOB DESCRIPTION


The RTA is actively seeking an experienced Diesel Bus Mechanic Shift Supervisor. This individual will manage the work of mechanics and supervise the maintenance for our fleet of 80 transit buses and service vehicles.


This position requires the level of knowledge and skills necessary to troubleshoot and repair automotive, transit, and commercial vehicles and equipment. Must have knowledge of and ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, laptops, scan tools, gauges, micrometers etc. Shift Supervisors are required to create, monitor, update and close repair orders in the company’s management system and ensure that employees are using the system effectively. Knowledge and skills using Microsoft computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point are necessary. This individual must have the ability to effectively lead, work and communicate with employees and customers, and ensure repairs and maintenance are performed in a timely and efficient manner. Requirements also include daily safety inspections, with minimal reworks, and maintaining production standards. Particular attention will be paid to timeliness and quality of repairs. Shift supervisors will also be responsible for managing and leading service lane employees.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

      • Brakes/suspension/steering/exhaust

  • Ensure work orders are generated and properly completed for all work performed
  • Select appropriate, effective course of action for repairs
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release and road test vehicles as necessary
  • Ensure safe use of power and hand-held tools, ensure shop safety protocols are followed, shop is clean and organized, tools/equipment are properly stowed after shift and environmental regulations are adhered to
  • Assign, monitor and approve all work performed by the designated team
  • Perform road calls and emergency services as necessary
  • Move vehicles safely between lot, shop and work areas
  • Communicate professionally with customers, team members and supervisors
  • Actively participate and/or administer in safety or educational training as required
  • Will be responsible for prioritizing workload and distribution of work as well as advising the proper repair procedures through clear and concise communication.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • A/C 609 certification required.
  • Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B or higher with Passenger (P) endorsement and no Airbrakes (L) restriction.
  • Must have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
  • Minimum of three (3) years direct automotive, heavy equipment or transit repair experience.
  • Must have demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating automotive repair shop equipment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, bringing demonstrated abilities of building solid relationships with superiors, peers and subordinates.

Special Requirements:



  • This position requires a minimum of three (3) ASE Heavy Duty/Transit related certifications. These certifications must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment. 60; New Shift Supervisors are strongly encouraged to obtain their Heavy Duty/Transit ASE Master certification within their first two (2) years of employment through progressive testing.
  • Forklift certification must be achieved within one (1) year of employment.

Job Description:

  • In this role, you will ensure product continuity of supply for all materials that fall under your assigned portfolio of products. This portfolio can include the following types of materials: finished goods, work in process (WIP), raw materials, and packaging components.
  • You will collaborate and partner with the manufacturing sites to ensure supply plans can be successful fulfilled by monitoring capacity, component availability and actively mitigating and resolving any product supply and/or customer service challenges.

  • The planner is responsible for advising management and appropriate internal teams of the current and future status of product supply for existing products as well as for future launches. In addition, the planner is expected to escalate any issues that will impact the organization’s ability to meet customer needs and/or fulfill targeted supply plans.


Responsibilities:

  • Operate as Lead Planner for key strategic sites leading all supply planning related discussions.
  • Scheduling / Plant Production –Develop capacity-feasible supply plans and provide to the manufacturing sites on a prescribed schedule. Collaborate with assigned sites to develop short-term production schedules by taking into consideration site constraints, customer service and inventory targets. Execute planning scenarios in support of meeting customer service and/or inventory targets with a focus on minimizing E&O inventory, as appropriate.

We have the following shift option to offer:


You will work 9 pm - 5 am, Monday-Thursday + $1.50 shift premium.   If hired, you may not train on the shift you were hired for.


The Operator performs set-up and operates the machine to automatically fold, glue, and affix inserts and/or outserts, security tags, and adhesive labels on preprinted stock to ensure that production accurately meets the customer job order.   


This plant operates a 10-hour shift schedule, and our open shift option is below.  Please note that hours are subject to change to working either 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, due to production needs. 


Job Duties:



  • Performs make-ready functions.
  • Production: Activate process; monitor production and adjust machine during production run as required. Synchronize the speed of the machine to maximize the crew's output.
  • Perform and/or arrange for preventative maintenance according to schedule.
  • Record router information and information for daily production sheets such as time spent on specific tasks, number of items produced, etc.
  • Operators frequently operate and oversee the operation of more than one feeder/gluer operation at one time.
  • Occasionally train workers on the Folding and Gluing Machine operations and the feeding and take-off functions.
  • Cross-train as assigned.
  • EXAMPLES OF POWERED EQUIPMENT USED: Folding and gluing machines, automatic sealing equipment, Inserters, Tape Heads, computers, trash compactor, automatic labelers (EAM), and roller-conveyor table. 

Required Qualifications:



  • Previous Bobst Expertfold 110, Domino 110, Mistral 110, Masterfold 15 or Domino 90 Folder/Gluer experience preferred (other makes and models will be considered).  
  • Able to perform work-related functions requiring the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Read, speak, and understand the English language sufficient to interpret instructions, job orders, production sheets, and work-related documents.
  • Able to communicate problems and malfunctions to co-workers and lead/management.
  • Familiar with production and processing. Understands inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the manufacture and distribution of goods. Able to analyze needs and production requirements.
  • Troubleshooting experience and skill sufficient to analyze the process, determine what is causing an operating error and/or identify what must be changed, and generate some possible solutions and/or use logic and analysis to decide what to do about it. 
  • Candidates MUST be on time and reliable. 
  • Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the shift.
