The Boeing Electromagnetic Effects (E3) Group seeks Electromagnetic Effects Design and Analysis Engineers at Associate (Level 2), Experienced (Level 3), and Expert (Level 4) levels. The successful candidate will be based in the Puget Sound region (Washington State) and support Boeing Defense, Space & Security commercial-derivative aircraft programs such as the U.S. E-7A and the KC-46A tanker, among others.
The engineer will develop and validate Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements and architectures to integrate complex components and subsystems into higher-level platforms. Responsibilities include defining and conducting tests to validate designs to requirements, and providing EMI/EMC expertise during design, modification, supplier engagement, and manufacturing activities.
E3 environments include: Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Lightning, High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), Precipitation Static (P-static), Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), and related environments.
Primary responsibilities:
* Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other analyses to predict component, interconnect, and system performance and to optimize designs for E3 performance.
* Work (with minimal direction at higher levels) to achieve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structure.
* Interface with manufacturing and suppliers on complex E3 design aspects to assure system-level compatibility; identify and report achievements and issues to program management and customers.
* Review supplier test plans and test reports for technical correctness; identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
* Support project management by contributing to development of work statements, budgets, schedules, and design/review inputs.
* Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and suppliers to assess changes to equipment, determine impacts on electromagnetic characteristics, and recommend mitigations.
Additional responsibilities (as applicable by level and assignment):
* Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications.
* Apply EMI engineering methods to document and resolve complex technical problems.
* Apply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and tests.
* Participate on cross-functional teams and present technical results in internal and external reviews.
* Process engineering data into tables, graphs, and deliverables for inclusion in reports.
* Support or conduct aircraft-level E3 testing.
This position will be 100% onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance is required post-start.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

* Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.

The Shipboard Effectors Department is currently searching for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer II to work on a multi-discipline team to support the production of Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems located in Huntsville, AL.
This is an onsite role with regular support required in a production missile integration facility.
This position requires strong communication skills to collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality. Experience with hardware integration and test, supplier first article inspections, production work instructions and failure investigation principals are strongly desired.
Candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Team Leads/Program Managers to ensure that engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed, and schedules/budgets are met. Candidate will ensure Technical Data Packages are maintained and updated as necessary. Decisions must be data driven in nature and require preparing technical justification analysis reports as well as presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards.
What You Will Do
- Contribute to finding solutions to a wide range of technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical subsystems, including support in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon and at suppliers
- Support first article inspections, work instruction reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations for production issues. Decisions are data driven and require preparing technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards
- Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, subassemblies, and end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements

Qualifications You Must Have

Summary:
Reporting to TEN’s Vice President, Engineering, the Director-Design Engineering is responsible for overseeing the development and supporting the delivery of multi-disciplined construction projects. Responsibilities • Lead design-build preconstruction efforts by establishing the design management plan, design schedule/milestones, decision log, and deliverable requirements from pursuit through handoff to Operations • Perform RFP/RFQ and contract document analysis for design-build pursuits to identify scope, performance criteria, deliverables, risk items, and proposal requirements; translate requirements into a clear execution plan for the preconstruction team • Coordinate with preconstruction team leads (trade managers, MEP, scheduling, VDC, estimating) to assign responsibilities by phase and maintain a consistent cadence of design-to-budget and design-to-schedule checkpoints • Lead design team selection in coordination with leadership: develop shortlist criteria, interview approach, scope alignment, and onboarding expectations to meet HITT deliverables and client requirements • Manage the design process by facilitating design coordination meetings, tracking design actions/decisions, ensuring constructability reviews are completed, and driving timely owner and designer decisions required to maintain schedule • Integrate trade partner input (design-assist/delegated design where applicable) to support constructability, systems coordination, long-lead procurement, and package strategy; document scope splits and design responsibilities • Prepare and analyze bid or budget proposals to include; current market conditions, historical data, material escalation, internal estimates and subcontractor input for complete and accurate proposals to our clients • Develop and coordinate proposal narratives and exhibits related to design-build approach, design management, schedule strategy, risk, and cost drivers in alignment with RFP requirements • Make and influence decisions under tight deadlines • Identify and communicate cost saving solutions both internally and externally • Review work product to ensure process and quality are consistently being achieved • Assist with on-going training of all staff members • Present technical and financial information to stakeholders, including changes from previously presented pricing information Qualifications • DBIA education/certification or equivalent design-build training is a plus • Strong understanding of design-build procurement and RFP requirements, including development of compliance matrices, risk registers, and design management narratives • Demonstrated experience leading design-build pursuits and preconstruction with responsibility for design management and coordination of A/E deliverables • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field preferred • (5) to (10) years of commercial general contracting preconstruction or operations experience preferred • Clear & Concise communication skills with internal and external stakeholders • Critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making in pressure situations • Analyze construction documents and identify missing details and components required to provide a complete system or scope • Meticulous attention to detail • Timeline and Deadline oriented • Understand Building Code and LEED Requirements • Microsoft Office Suite, with high level of proficiency using Excel • Adobe products, including Bluebeam HITT Contracting is an equal opportunity employer.
