We are looking for a Director, Environmental Permitting, to lead and scale all environmental functions supporting development, permitting, construction, and operations of on-site power generation to support large data center loads across the U.S.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Services Manager to lead environmental compliance and consulting initiatives focused on stormwater management, air quality regulations, and environmental permitting. This role supports a diverse portfolio of State, Local, Education (SLED), and Federal clients, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable operations.


The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in EPA regulations, Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), NPDES permitting, and environmental program management, along with strong leadership and client-facing experience. This is a high-visibility role offering the opportunity to influence environmental strategy, lead technical teams, and deliver impactful solutions across public and private sector projects.



Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Compliance & Program Management

  • Lead and manage environmental compliance programs related to stormwater and air quality
  • Ensure adherence to EPA, federal, and state environmental regulations (CWA, CAA)
  • Develop and oversee SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans) and SPCC plans
  • Manage NPDES permitting, monitoring, sampling, and reporting activities
  • Oversee compliance with Title V and minor source air permits


Stormwater Management

  • Direct stormwater compliance programs for industrial and government facilities
  • Conduct site inspections, outfall monitoring, and stormwater sampling
  • Implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) and corrective action plans
  • Support design and planning of stormwater infrastructure systems
  • Prepare and submit Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs)


Air Quality Compliance

  • Manage air permitting, emissions inventories, and regulatory reporting
  • Coordinate stack testing, emissions monitoring, and compliance audits
  • Develop and implement air quality compliance strategies
  • Prepare and submit documentation to regulatory agencies


Government & Regulatory Support

  • Support environmental contracts across SLED and Federal sectors
  • Ensure compliance with government contract requirements and deliverables
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, contracting officers, and stakeholders
  • Assist with proposal development and technical documentation


Leadership & Project Management

  • Lead and mentor environmental scientists, engineers, and technical staff
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
  • Provide technical expertise and regulatory guidance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and compliance teams


Client Engagement & Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on environmental compliance and sustainability
  • Conduct environmental audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
  • Present findings and strategies to clients, regulators, and leadership teams
  • Develop long-term environmental compliance and risk mitigation strategies



Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in environmental compliance, stormwater management, and air quality programs
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Clean Water Act (CWA)
  • Clean Air Act (CAA)
  • NPDES permitting and compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CEP, CHMM, or PE
