Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

• Lead and govern design-related CAPA activities across the R&D organization, ensuring timely, compliant, and effective resolution of complex design, verification, validation, and product performance issues.
  
• Oversee and review root cause investigations using rigorous, data-driven problem-solving methodologies, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are appropriately scoped, risk-based, sustainable, and effectively linked to design controls, risk management, and product lifecycle processes.
  
• Ensure CAPA records and documentation are complete, accurate, and audit-ready, in compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and internal quality system requirements.
  
• Manage and develop the R&D CAPA team, including setting expectations, prioritizing
  
• workload, providing technical direction, and coaching CAPA specialists and engineers.
  
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to R&D engineers and CAPA owners on CAPA processes, best practices, timeline development, SOP adherence, and effectiveness verification planning.
  
• Serve as the primary R&D CAPA interface with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and other cross-functional partners to address systemic and cross-product issues.
  
• Review and approve CAPA plans, timelines, effectiveness verification strategies, and closure rationales to ensure regulatory robustness and high-quality outcomes.
  
• Support internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments by providing CAPA documentation (e.g., CAPA storyboards), investigation rationale, and subject matter expertise.
  
• Act as a CAPA subject matter expert within the R&D organization, driving continuous improvement in CAPA execution quality and consistency.
  

Minimum Requirements

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  
• 6+ years of experience in R&D within a medical device organization with at least 5 years of CAPA processes and regulatory compliance requirements (FDA, ISO 13485).
  
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  
• Proven experience in managing CAPA for design and development activities
  

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Expert-level understanding of CAPA methodologies, root cause analysis tools (Fishbone, 5 Whys, FMEA), and risk management.

Typically reporting to the School Chair, the Professor is a tenured/tenure-track faculty member who performs a combination of teaching, research, and service. Summary

The people and technology that power our Group business work in the Employee Benefit Solutions Technology (EBST) organization within Enterprise Technology. As a member of the Partner Data Exchange (PDX) team, you will help design, build, and support systems that enable how Securian exchanges critical employee and client data with internal platforms, external partners, and administrators.

PDX plays a key role in the end to end client experience by ensuring that eligibility, enrollment, and coverage data is accurate, timely, and reliable. The systems supported by this team directly influence how easily clients onboard, how effectively partners integrate, and how confidently downstream teams can serve our Employee Benefits Solutions (EBS) customers.

This role is well suited for an engineer who is eager to grow technical skills, learn complex domains, and contribute to high impact systems in a collaborative, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and support of systems that ingest, validate, transform, and distribute client and employee data
• Learn and apply best practices for building and consuming RESTbased APIs that support internal platforms and external partners
• Support both filebased and APIdriven data exchange solutions, with guidance from senior engineers
• Develop an understanding of how data quality, timeliness, and system behavior impact the client and administrator experience
• Assist with enhancements and defect resolution in existing systems, including batch processing and integrations
• Participate in production support activities and incident triage, using monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and other engineers to deliver incremental improvements aligned to business priorities
• Follow established engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, and deployment

Required Qualifications

• Experience developing software using Java and familiarity with Spring Boot or similar frameworks
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and web services
• Exposure to batch processing, integrations, or applications that ingest and process large volumes of operational data
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub and modern development workflows
• Willingness to learn and work within a complex domain involving customer and employee data
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, ask questions, and incorporate feedback through code reviews and collaboration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates accountability, curiosity, and a desire to grow technical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to relational databases such as SQL Server

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking Embedded Software Engineers in Palm Bay, FL to work on a dynamic team supporting design, development, integration, and test of embedded computing systems in support of the F-15 Aviate Navigate Communicate (ANC) and Mission Processor (MP) development and EMD production programs. The L3Harris team is developing the most advanced and secure mission architecture .

Will work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.

Essential Functions:

• Software development
  • C/C++ Software Development using existing tools
  • Requirements, test, systems architecture, software architecture, and design
    • Testing tools may include test frameworks in Python
    • Software Coverage Tools
• Development will support L3Harris mission systems integration architecture
• Development will support customer deployments
• No immediate travel expected but may require travel to customer site in St. Louis, MO, if in a software leadership role, to support program meetings
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field) and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Software leadership experience such as CSWE, IPTL, CAM experience
• Experience with embedded security and encryption
• Knowledgeable of safety-critical software development / DO-178 B or above industry standards
• Experience on complex systems with a focus on mission computing, memory systems, and/or displays
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment
• Working knowledge of Bash/Python, Intel x86/ARM/FPGA/SoC, GPP, GPU, Embedded System Design, Release Engineering, Understanding of Change and Configuration Management, Debug/Trace Analysis, Real-time Operating Systems like VxWorks/LynxOS/Integrity, SELinux, Software Integration, Test, and Verification/Validation
• Ability to work well across multiple engineering disciplines
• The ability to understand and work with Network storage as well as an understanding of Gigabit Ethernet or InfiniBand.
• A functioning knowledge of authentication schemes from Radius to LDAP.
• Secret US Security Clearance
• Experience interacting with software development throughout the design cycle including major design reviews and architecture reviews.
• Experience with Hardware and Software integration and test
• DevSecOps and Test automation experience using Python or similar languages
• 5+ years of embedded development,
• Experience with APIs/BSPs/Drivers, OpenGL, health and status
• 5 + years’ experience with C++ systems development with understanding of Software/Hardware co-design, distributed systems design, and software/computer architecture.
• 5 + years’ experience with avionics lifecycle execution.
