Primary Objective:

To drive successful pricing outcomes through accurate, data-driven costing and pricing processes across projects. This role will engage with customers’ technical teams to adequately understand the customer need and ensure we cost estimate effectively, with the overarching goal of enabling Spectrum to best serve existing and new accounts through competitive and accurate pricing.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical liaison to customers, providing confidence in engineering expertise and guiding them through technical discussions of clarity and feasibility of proposed opportunities.
  • Engage with customers to understand and provide relevant feedback (e.g., opportunities to drive down cost without impacting efficacy) on technical details of their quote requests and design elements.
  • Oversee project cost estimation for incoming opportunities within aligned product group, including developing cost and engineering process assumptions and designing/executing methodologies for accurate quoting.
  • Leverage pricing tools to provide commercial team members with pricing guidance.

Qualifications:

Pilot Line Operations includes - processing of the media through various media processes and equipment which includes but is not limited to the following:


  • Processing of experiments for the Engineering team - processing discs through the various tools, measurement of the media, data entry, and feedback to engineering and management of the results.
  • Work inside of a cleanroom - 100% PPE suits from head to toe with masks and safety glasses are required.
  • Job requires a good amount of movement (walking - 50% depending on the job) to retrieve parts from point A to point B in many cases.
  • Reaching is required in many cases to load and unload products onto racks, machines, etc., typically ranging from 24 inches to 53 inches not exceeding 10lbs.
  • Many cases cart is provided for the transport of product, but hand carrying of product/material is required majority of the time as well.
  • Computer skills are required in all the areas since the machines and the processes require computer and software interface. Interaction with Engineering is required via email, phone and excellent understanding and communication skills are required. Comprehension of correct recipes, file savings, instructions are followed precisely. Detailed use of excel is a must and understanding of Windows.
  • Job requires stepping onto step stools to reach platforms for the processing of parts, as well as bending/kneeling in tight spaces for access to back of tools for process checks.
  • Manual dexterity is needed in some areas to perform tape changes, adjustments based upon data received from Engineering or checklists. MDW process requires detailed manual dexterity with ESD sensitive parts and miniature assembly.
  • Many of the jobs require cross training to be able to utilize the employees efficiently for planning purposes and downtime in areas.
  • Saturday workday is required and part of their schedule in many cases and overtime is required.

In our petrochemical facility we produce synthetic rubber from monomer feedstocks and catalysts, through a polymerization reaction.

The product, after other operations, is carefully weighed and pressed into uniform bales before shipping to the next Michelin factory for tire production.

Our facility supplies various rubber products that go into tires in the USA, Canada, and in Michelin factories around the world. Our site is one of the three Michelin petrochemical sites producing synthetic rubber for cars, vans, trucks, two-wheelers, aircraft, agricultural tractors, and mining equipment.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Support the Energy and Water Saving (EWS) Project. This role will contribute to sustainability initiatives by assisting in data analysis, project coordination, and technical research aimed at improving energy and water efficiency across operations.

  • Gain hands-on experience in sustainability and resource efficiency projects.

  • Exposure to industrial systems and operational improvement strategies.

  • Mentorship from experienced professionals in engineering and project management.

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Collect and analyze energy and water usage data from various systems and facilities.

  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for conservation.

  • Assist in developing visual reports and dashboards to communicate findings.

Project Coordination

  • Support the implementation of energy and water saving initiatives, including audits and retrofits.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely execution of project tasks.

  • Track project milestones and prepare regular status updates.

Technical Research

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices in energy and water conservation.

  • Benchmark current performance against industry standards and provide recommendations.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain organized records of project activities, findings, and recommendations.

  • Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and reports for stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Assist in preparing communication materials for awareness campaigns and training sessions.

  • Support efforts to promote engagement in sustainability initiatives.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

The ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues. Success in working with other people or team to meet a common objective. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other software systems. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Currently enrolled in a Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Computer, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent program at an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with energy management systems or water conservation technologies is an asset.

The College of Engineering is seeking to fill a temporary Administrative Manager position. The role will provide direct supervision and daytoday leadership to an administrative support team, including workload distribution, providing guidance and performance feedback, and serving as an escalation point for operational issues. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for administrative operations during a period of transition, ensuring continuity of operations and coverage.

The Administrative Manager will oversee daily administrative operations, monitor service levels, and ensure consistent, highquality support for faculty, staff, students, and leadership. The role will also collaborate with internal stakeholders such as HR, finance, facilities, IT, and central offices to coordinate administrative needs, update leadership, and implement interim process improvements to address workflow gaps as needed.
