Position Overview

The Appellate Attorney supports appellate matters by conducting legal research, drafting briefs and motions, and assisting with appellate strategy. The firm offers strong mentorship, hands-on training, and increasing responsibility as skills develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review trial court records and transcripts to assist in identifying appellate issues
  • Conduct legal research and case law analysis
  • Draft sections of appellate briefs, motions, and petitions under supervision
  • Cite-check and edit briefs for accuracy and compliance with court rules
  • Assist in preparing oral argument materials and participating in moot courts
  • Track deadlines and ensure compliance with appellate procedural rules
  • Collaborate with trial teams and senior appellate attorneys

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with at least one state bar
  • 1–3 years of legal experience (appellate experience preferred but not required)
