DESCRIPTION:

The Dental Assistant functions as a member of the dental team responsible for working directly with the dentist. Duties cover both clinical and administrative requirements of the department. Assisting in the delivery of oral health care through standard procedures and fore-handed techniques. Completing various procedures in patient preparation. Exposing radio-graphic dental films using paralleling and bisecting the angle techniques. Processing of radio-graphic films. Maintaining equipment. Obtains, records, and files patient information. Sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic environment in all areas of patient care. Giving out dental appointments and patient information. Procuring electronic health information, process patient data, maintain unit records/logs, patient referral and other clerical duties as required. Coordinate unit function with administrative and clinical unit staff. Informs provider of patient status and unit activities. Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism. Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations. Assist with patient intake, registration and billing. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate or GED equivalent. Dental Assistant training by a certified program and one (1) year experience as a Dental Assistant. Certificate of expanded functions required. Certificate of Dental Assistant training or Certificate of Dental Radio-graph (with on the job training). Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Basic knowledge of dental anatomy, materials, instruments, equipment and techniques.

The successful candidate will perform advanced scientific work with supervisory laboratory analyses responsibility for water and soil pollution investigations including code enforcement. The position requires knowledge of analytical techniques related to the analyses of Nutrients, Organics and/or Metals using highly technical instrumentation to include Gas Chromatograph (GC), Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), Ion Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICPMS) and/or Segmented Flow Analyzers depending on the assigned area. Experience conducting wet chemistry techniques including total suspended solids, pH and turbidity are desirable. Candidates with experience in the analyses of Microbiology samples using IDEXX will be considered. The candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills to complete internal audits, write technical reports including Standard Operating Procedures and conduct detection limit studies using approved methods. The position is required to assist field personnel in sampling events when necessary. Proficient in the use of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) for data entry, quality control and reporting are preferred. Experienced working under a NELAP certified laboratory as an analyst is highly desirable. This position has emergency responsibilities to support the Public Works and Environmental Services Department in times of emergency activation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a robust caseload focused on First Party Property and General Liability defense.
• Lead significant litigation events, including complex depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Provide strategic direction on high-exposure cases and manage key client relationships.
• Act as a mentor and escalation point for junior attorneys, providing guidance on file strategy and litigation tactics.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years of active litigation experience.
• Specialty: Deep expertise in First Party Property and General Liability.
• Courtroom Skills: First-chair or substantial second-chair trial experience is highly preferred.
• Business Development: A portable book of business is a strong plus, though not strictly required.
• Licensure: Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
