About the AISI Fellowship
The Boston Consulting Group's AI Science Institute (AISI) is launching a postdoctoral fellowship program designed to empower the next generation of applied science leaders. This elite, industry-adjacent program offers PhDs and early-career scientists the opportunity to work on some of the world's most complex and high-impact scientific problems using cutting-edge AI, in collaboration with top-tier partners across aerospace, healthcare, energy, and materials science.
Fellows will operate at the intersection of foundational research, real-world deployment, and strategic impact, helping shape breakthrough workstreams with AISI partners.
Unlike traditional academic or big-tech postdocs, AISI fellows work on problems where the science, the data, and the deployment context are all partially undefined. Fellows are expected not only to advance models or methods, but to shape problem formulation, data strategy, and downstream impact alongside senior scientists, engineers, and industry leaders.
What You'll Bring
* Lead or contribute to multi-disciplinary research initiatives that apply machine learning, simulation, optimization, or GenAI to real-world scientific domains.

Program Details
* Duration: 24 months, with possibility of transition into full-time role at BCG X.
* Mentorship: Each fellow will be paired with a senior advisor and a technical/scientific lead from BCG X and a partner institution.

* Compensation: Competitive salary aligned with industry postdoc benchmarks, plus support for publishing, conference travel, and IP generation. Primary Duties:
- Provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to patients with speech, language and/or swallowing disorders, including head-neck cancer patients.
- Establishes treatment goals and develops therapeutic programs. Makes determinations as to whether patient may continue eating orally, or if an alternate peripheral nutritional method is required. Provides esophageal voice training, tracheoesophageal voice training, and training in prosthetic devices. Conducts and interprets video fluorography. Conducts invasive tracheoesophageal puncture evaluations.
- Summarizes test results and prognostic evidence. Completes progress notes and related documentation in medical records and responds to referral source(s). Maintains statistical data as required by department. Determines appropriate period when therapy can be discontinued based on patient's performance and progress. - Performs hearing screening as required. Completes all required documentation for patient billing. Participates in interdepartmental rehabilitation team meetings, discharge rounds and family conferences. Presents speech-language in-services to nursing staff, Rehabilitation Department, and medical residents as assigned. Provides guidance to and may serve as a professional resource for graduate students completing a clinical practicum.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature, and by attending related seminars and conferences.

Program Planning & Execution

The Engineering Payroll and Employment Services is hiring a Coordinator for a 12-month+ contract. This position will offer 30-40 hours of work per week with on-site presence required in College Park, MD.
Support EPES Operations
- Greet customers as they come to the EPES Center, and identify what they need assistance with
- Distribute paychecks to employees that come to the center
- Ensure that the printer has paper each morning and refill supplies.
- Coordinate EPES meeting agenda items and take notes during the meeting.
- Review reports for upcoming terminating jobs and take action to confirm if the job needs to be renewed. Emailing supervisors to confirm continuing student employment. Notify lead payroll administrator for faculty positions.
EPES Payroll Functions
- Review tax and direct deposit forms that new employees drop off. Notify the lead payroll coordinator who is assisting the new employee that the forms are completed and ensure that the forms get to Payroll Office in Chesapeake building.
- Process payroll actions in Workday such as: funding account changes, student non-standard jobs and payments, terminations and end jobs.
- Produce Letters of Support for students I-20 extensions.
Reporting
- Assist in creating Workday report templates for each individual unit/dept
- Setup reminders for departments to check their reports
- Assist with cleaning Workday data such as Workday Supervisory Organizations
- Check links in internal Clarknet website every other month and update links as needed
Ticket system/Website
- Assist with developing canned responses to inquiries and getting feedback from payroll teams
- Work on developing materials for customer website (forms to request payroll actions, links to information at various campus offices)
- Assist in creating form templates for customers to submit to request payroll actions: functions, such as on-boarding, VISA requests, Payroll changes
