Lifting: Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and are unloaded by the team member using a hand truck. Deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds with dimensions of up to 3' x 1.5'. Cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72 high.

Carrying: Large cans, weighing 3 pounds, 7 ounces, are carried from the workstation to storage shelves. Occasionally, pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds is carried from the storage room to the front of the store. Trays of pizza dough are carried three at a time over short distances, and weigh approximately 12 pounds per tray.

Pushing: To move trays which are placed on dollies. A stack of trays on a dolly is approximately 24- 30 and requires a force of up to 7.5 pounds to push. Trays may also be pulled.

Climbing: Team members must infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.

Our South Central Regional positions offer great pay with lots of drop & hook freight. You spend more time on the road earning and less time waiting at the shippers. It is our goal for every driver residing within 50 miles of Memphis, Houston, or Dallas to get at least a 34-hour weekly restart. Drivers residing in all other areas are out for 12 days, home 3 days. Yard Driver

The Yard Driver is primarily responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the company needs. The Yard Driver will also be responsible for completing local deliveries as needed. Other responsibilities include:

  • Operate Yard Truck to maneuver and park large, oversized loads.
  • Responsible for accounting for records involving container numbers.
  • Must function and interact daily with distribution center personnel and comply with safety requirements.
  • Communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with dispatch, operations, and personnel.
  • Move trailers in and out of bays, inspect new deliveries and provide support where needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and practice safe work habits per company policies.
  • Wear and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with ELD, vehicle condition reports, and all other aspects of DOT compliance. Keep updated on current DOT rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate strengths in the following skill areas:

  • Knowledge of DOT rules, regulations and other DOT compliance requirements.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently utilize a yard truck to maneuver trailers in small spaces and throughout the yard.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Able to effectively manage competing priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to operate tractor with 53' trailer on various roads and highways throughout designated regions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL license.
  • A clean driving record with no major accidents and no alcohol or drug convictions.
  • At least 1 year all-weather driving experience is required.
  • Minimum 1 year yard jockey experience is required.
  • Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob's

Physical Demands:

  • Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center yard.
  • Sitting: 90%
  • Standing, walking, lifting, shifting or arranging product: 5%
