Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistants Role Scope:


Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.


In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

Position Summary:

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, you will:

Conduct assessments and diagnose communication disorders (SLPs/CFs)

Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy

Implement treatment plans and support IEP goals under appropriate supervision (SLPAs)

Develop and implement IEP goals (SLPs/CFs)

Monitor student progress and collect data

Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, supervisors, and families

Qualifications:

For SLPs / CFs:

Graduate of an accredited university with an M.A. or M.S. in Communication Disorders recognized by ASHA

ASHA CCCs or CF

State SLP License or in the process of applying

Teaching certificate (if applicable) or ability to obtain

For SLPAs:

Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field

ASHA certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (C-SLPA)

Active state SLPA license/certification or eligibility to obtain

Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed SLP
