Primary Duties: 

  • Performs all forms of ultrasound imaging and assists in interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients. Explains procedures, screens, prepares, and positions patients for examinations.  

  • Prepares equipment, selects appropriate transducer and ensures that the necessary supply items are available for each examination. Performs examinations according to department protocols and adjusts equipment appropriately to ensure satisfactory images.  

  • Performs image photography and film processing. Reviews and evaluates completed examinations for quality and completeness. Performs and/or utilizes knowledge of physical assessments (i.e., blood pressure, pulse, respiration), intravenous care, and aseptic techniques.  

  • Responsible for proper use of MARS information system to perform verification of all examinations performed. Ensures that supply levels are adequate in assigned area. Communicates with appropriate individual when the department inventory has been or is approaching depletion.  

  • Assists with the training and orientation of new employees and students. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Associate degree or 1-3 years formal training in ultrasonography. 

  • 1-2 years progressively more responsible job-related experience. 

  • At least one registration from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Primary Duties: 

  • Performs full range of MR imaging procedures promptly on all patient types as specified by the protocol. The ability to perform venipuncture, injection of contrast media, and non-narcotic medication is required for effective diagnostic imaging and scanning. Must adhere to the direction, policy, and procedures as defined by physician modality director.  

  • Strict adherence to research guidelines for studies performed on patients participating in research studies. Adheres to the policies and procedures that apply to the performance of obtaining MR studies and MR guided procedures, including performing correct, exam, including laterality, on the correct patient at the time requested.  

  • Provides basic information to patients and/or families about procedures to be performed and can answer questions if asked. Assists with the upkeep of MR and related equipment, adhering to all related safety requirements and reports needed for equipment repairs. Can execute and enforce MR Safety standards and practices.  

  • Monitors equipment, analyses potential reasons for system malfunction, contacts the Biomedical engineering department and reports malfunction to log a ticket. Ensures timely completion of all exams through tracking, scanning, and other technical workflow as related to Radiology Information System (RIS, Enterprise Radiology Solutions (ERS) and EMR (Electronic Medical Record).  

  • Coordinates and collaborates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover. Coordinates, communicates, and collaborates with Patient Financial Associates that register radiology exams to minimize delays and potential safety issues for the outpatient population. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Vocational/Technical Diploma from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology; competency in didactic coursework and an ARRT-specified list of clinical procedures by completing competency requirements established for the discipline in which they are seeking certification and registration. 

  • ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology); with advanced certification in MR.  

  • BLS (Basic Life Support). 

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a hospital setting preferred.

General Summary of Position
The Clinical Administrator is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team. The role is accountable for directing and supervising clinical and administrative resources to ensure the provision of holistic culturally competent quality safe and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients and families. This is accomplished by direct action delegation coaching and support of the Division of Nursing's associates and shared/collaborative governance activities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assumes clinical and administrative supervision of nursing and patient care services for multiple units/departments or hospital/entity. Consults advises or informs nursing providers and other leaders concerning issues that arise and their resolution as appropriate unit needs and/or problems during the shift worked. Escalates concerns applying the chain of command.
  • Consults and communicates with nursing and hospital administration as well as senior medical staff and other Nurse Leaders concerning any operational issues or matters pertaining to staffing and the management of assigned areas. Maintains ongoing communication with leaders to review programs provide feedback discuss new developments and exchange information.
  • Manages materials equipment and supply activities assuring adequate availability and utilization. Communicates material and supply needs to departmental leaders. Participates in product selection and evaluation as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with the Capacity Management and/or Admissions Departments to strategize for the daily flow of patients into and out of beds. Rounds routinely on each nursing unit and other departments to identify empty beds actual/potential discharges and transfers. Communicates this information back to the Admissions Department. Evaluates the effectiveness of bed turnover and communicates with Environmental Services as necessary.
  • Monitors high risk patients and complicated conditions and institutes appropriate actions. Ensures compliance with unit divisional and hospital policies procedures as well as regulatory and accreditation standards. Prepares written documentation as required. Maintains required reports records statistics and notes.
  • Receives and reviews preceding shift reports and notes patients' conditions when rounding on units. Coordinates department wide staffing patterns to meet safe and efficient staffing levels for each unit. Adjusts staffing to meet patient care needs and to provide adequate and fiscally responsible coverage of all units. Assists Nurse Leaders with unit/departmental staffing through coordination of float pool agency and per diem personnel.
  • Supervises coordinates and evaluates patient care services interventions during assigned shift. Intervenes where necessary to assure optimal patient care outcomes by utilizing approaches and strategies that support and optimize outcomes. Takes action to support the National Patient Safety Goals nursing sensitive indicators regulatory requirements and other identified quality metrics.
  • Maintains and demonstrates a professional patient-first atmosphere and an environment of coaching and development that supports shared decision-making interdisciplinary collaboration and a high level of patient and associate satisfaction as evidenced by outcomes data. Minimal Qualifications
Education

Job Title : Nuclear Engineer (Naval Reactors Engineer) Category / Component : Officer • Active Overview Design, regulate, and oversee the Navy's nuclear propulsion program, including reactor design, fleet operations, and eventual defueling and decommissioning of nuclear powered ships and submarines from Naval Reactors Headquarters and associated Department of Energy laboratories and shipyards.

Key Responsibilities Provide technical direction in areas such as reactor and fluid systems design, reactor physics, materials development, component design for steam generators, pumps, and valves, instrumentation and control for reactor and propulsion plants, testing and quality control, radiation shielding, and chemistry and radiological controls; review designs and analyses from laboratories, shipyards, and industry partners; coordinate with fleet units to ensure safe and reliable nuclear plant operation.

What to Expect Assume significant technical responsibility early in your career as part of a lean headquarters staff; work primarily in an analytical and oversight role rather than operating plants at sea; balance long term engineering projects with time sensitive fleet and shipyard issues; frequent coordination with senior civilian engineers, naval officers, and technical teams; high expectations for attention to detail, judgment, and written and oral communication.

Work Environment Work mainly at Naval Reactors Headquarters in the Washington, District of Columbia area with regular engagement with Department of Energy laboratories, nuclear training sites, shipyards, and nuclear powered ships and submarines; office based work that includes document reviews, technical meetings, inspections, and site visits rather than day to day shipboard watchstanding.

Pathways, Training & Advancement Officer commissioning through programs such as Officer Candidate School or the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate program followed by a structured technical qualification program at Naval Reactors; rotational exposure to laboratories, prototypes, shipyards, and fleet support issues; progressive responsibility leading projects and becoming a subject matter expert, with opportunities for professional military education and advanced graduate study in technical fields.

Entry through the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate program for qualified college students and recent graduates, or selection via Officer Candidate School for those who already hold qualifying degrees; all applicants must meet Nuclear Propulsion Program academic and technical screening standards in addition to general officer commissioning requirements.

Qualifications All Navy jobs require meeting general enlistment or commissioning standards, which typically include: Eligibility to serve in the United States Navy, which may involve United States citizenship or other legal residency and work status, depending on the program and current law and policy A high school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions, and a bachelor's or qualifying professional degree for officer positions Meeting age limits that vary by program and are set in law and Navy policy.

Some communities have more restrictive age ranges Meeting medical, vision, and dental standards, including body composition and physical fitness requirements, with some jobs requiring more demanding standards Meeting character and conduct standards, including background screening Achieving required test scores for your program, such as the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery for enlisted roles or officer qualification tests for officer programs Eligibility for a security clearance when required for your rating or designator Additional qualifications can include specific skills, education, licensure, or experience that are unique to a job or community and will be reviewed with you by a recruiter.

Additional qualifications for this job may include: Completion of a rigorous technical degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a closely related field that includes strong backgrounds in calculus and physics; outstanding academic record, particularly in technical coursework; United States citizenship and eligibility for a high level security clearance; strong technical aptitude and comfort with detailed analytical work.
