MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students’ academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.

Responsibilities include:

Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The professional registered nurse Inpatient RN CAP 2 may be an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) for new employees who meet the RN CAP 2 criteria or attained through advancement from CAP 1. This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the kidney disease health care team, this position participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and program operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, applicable contractual service agreements, state and federal regulations.

- Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with the guidance from the Educator, Preceptor, or in collaboration with another Registered Nurse.
- Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post treatment for assigned patients and documents in the patient medical record, makes adjustments or modifications to treatment plan as indicated and notifies Supervisor, Physician, patient’s primary nurse and others as indicated.
- Assesses, collaborates and documents patient/family’s basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family.
- Recognizes aspects and implications of patient status that vary from normal and reports to or collaborates with appropriate health team members for input including but not limited to Supervisor, appropriate physician, and the contracted facility/primary Nurse.
- Directs and provides safe effective patient care for assigned patients as prescribed for all modality specific treatment procedures.
- Assesses daily assigned patient care needs and collaborates with direct and ancillary patient care staff as needed.
- Initiates and coordinates communication with FKC and Non-FKC dialysis providers and appropriate contracted facility personnel as needed to provide continuity of patient care.
- Performs the implementation, administration, monitoring, and documentation of patient's response to prescribed intradialytic transfusions, including appropriate notification of adverse reactions to physician and appropriate blood supplier.
- Administers medications as prescribed and documents medical justification and effectiveness.
- Initiates and assists with emergency response measures.
- Serves as a resource, leader, coach, mentor and role model for new and incumbent employees by setting examples of appropriate behavior, work habits and attitudes towards patients, co-workers, Supervisors and the company at the facility and area level.
- May be asked to provide specialized nursing care instructions to hospital/facility staff as stipulated contractually.
- May be assigned to assist in an Outpatient facility on an as needed basis.
- May serve as a Preceptor to new employees.
- Required to complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: 

Performs all required Radiological and Lab duties in accordance with license and performs front desk duties as assigned. Demonstrates excellence in customer service and patient satisfaction. 

As a Radiology Tech, you will: 

• Work with all clinic staff to ensure efforts are coordinated and that patients receive high quality care and services. Provides care to patients in a timely manner. 
• Perform all x-ray views according to provider’s orders, clinical practice under state law and in compliance with company policy and procedures. Document the patient record according to established clinical practice and company policies and procedures. Perform drug screens, urinalysis and other in-house lab tests accurately. Process specimens for reference labs. 
• Help support front desk duties to include greeting patients, checking patients in/out, End of Day close out procedures, patient interactions, lobby checks and records release. 
• Maintain, calibrate and perform controls on lab/x-ray equipment daily. Inspects and reports artifacts from the x-ray screen. Operate equipment according to policy and manufacturer guidelines. Complete semi-annual X-Ray inspections. 
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, x-rays, and lab work sent out to other labs. Perform equipment audits as scheduled. Ensure the occupational client’s work form is followed and occupational procedures are adhered to. 
• Work closely with the Center Manager, Medical Staff, Front Desk Coordinator and all clinic staff to maintain smooth operations and high customer satisfaction. 
• Follow all company policies pertaining to infection control and hand hygiene. 
• May be required to work alternate shifts and may be required to float to other clinic locations. 

You Should Have:  

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Services required. 
• 1+year of clinical experience in a patient care setting preferred. 
• Registered Radiologic Technologist, ARRT Certification required. State licensure may be required.

Function as liaison and advocate for individuals’ healthcare, wellbeing, and inclusion.

Train unlicensed staff on medication supervision of self-administration, delegated tasks, treatment protocols, and monitoring.

Implement and train employees on new and revised health related policies and procedures in a timely manner as directed.

Oversee pharmacy and medication needs.

Maintain health-related records, complete documentation and assessments.

Obtain and maintain HRST rater certification.

Support individuals in obtaining health services appropriate for their needs.

Oversee that the health status and physical conditions of individuals are assessed, monitored, reported, documented, and responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.

Respond to emergency medical situations in a timely manner, as appropriate.

Participate in and attend assigned medical individuals’ appointments (as directed).

Develop and update individual specific plans of care and health care plans to ensure appropriate medical care and supervision for assigned individuals.

Manage transitions of care to and from hospital, nursing home, rehab facility and/or another agency.

Mandatory reporter of any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the supervisor or Director Qualifications: RN with current Georgia license.

Experience in IDD/Mental Health nursing is preferred.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental disabilities and/or mental illness.

Valid Driver’s License, with no driving limitations.
