Responsibilities

• Proactively address system ambiguity, triage hardware/software issues, and escalate risks to drive to closure with all partners.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related discipline required; Master's preferred.
• At least 12 years' experience driving complex systems engineering initiatives, especially for embedded infotainment ECUs, with expertise in SoC, hardware, and vehicle integration.
• Demonstrated ability to architect, integrate, and validate high-performance systems spanning processor, board, and vehicle domains.
• Proficient background in ARM SoC platforms, memory and storage subsystems, peripheral interfaces such as PCIe and USB, and multimedia (audio/display) pipelines.
• Hands-on skills with embedded Linux/RTOS, bootloaders, board-level bring-up, schematic/layout review, and cross-domain debugging.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and experience leading cross-functional validation efforts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, influencing, and communication abilities; adept at navigating organizational complexities and driving clarity and execution across teams.
• Experience in strategies for system safety, with preferred exposure to ISO 26262 and cybersecurity standards.

Description:

· Develop test procedures to evaluate in-vehicle for NVH performance.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the Design Verification Plan (DVP) and validation activities for complex product systems. As a Harness Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the system integration team and will report to the System Integration Engineering Manager. The system integration team is a small group of highly motivated engineers designing, integrating, testing, and flying advanced mechanical and electrical systems. The harness engineer is a very cross-functional role at the convergence of the avionics, mechanical, integration, and production teams, with significant hands-on work designing, building, integrating, and testing our harnesses, enclosures, and mounting hardware; expect to broaden your design and application experience.

Responsibilities

In your role as a Harness Engineer you will work with the avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define the harnessing design, including routing, component selection, and manufacturing and integration processes. You'll be responsible for the detailed design of both flight and test harnesses, and you'll be working with the production technicians and A&Ps to get the harnesses built and installed on the aircraft. You'll have the opportunity to design, install, and test your hardware on a remotely operated aircraft, and you'll be an instrumental part of how our hardware teams come together on the airplane.

Basic Success Criteria

• 2+ years experience in electrical harness design

The Avionics Hardware team is a small group of highly motivated engineers who develop the core compute, actuation, sensing, and power electronics products at the heart of our automation system. We enjoy cradle-to-grave hardware ownership and hands-on test, iteration, and deployment of our designs. As a Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will lead development of electrical components and sub-systems across our airborne and test platforms from the circuit-board level up through integrated systems and everything in between.

Responsibilities

In your role as Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the circuit board through integrated electro-mechanical level. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing and test engineers as the expert on your hardware. You will drive improvements to the hardware through benchtop, environmental, and on-aircraft testing, and perform root-cause investigations to characterize, document, and rectify anomalous behavior in a safety-critical environment. You will contribute to continuous improvement of the team's development processes and practices through technical leadership.

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of full-lifecycle hardware development experience in a professional environment

• Experience developing and simulating complex and manufacturable printed circuit board assemblies using tools such as Altium Designer and SPICE

• Ability to work within a team, including excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to methodically diagnose, document, and solve electronic hardware problems

Preferred Criteria

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering

• Experience with aviation development assurance standards (e.g. RTCA/DO-254 for Level A/B items or equivalent)

• Experience designing electronics to meet rigorous environmental standards (aerospace, military, automotive, or harsh industrial)

• Deep expertise in high-speed digital design, mixed-signal design, RF design, and/or power electronics design

• Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for analysis, data review, and test setup scripting

• Ability to work both independently and as a leader of a high performing team
