UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is recruiting a full-time oncology nocturnist at UPMC Shadyside. The oncology nocturnist is a board-certified or board-eligible physician responsible for providing high-quality, overnight medical care to hospitalized cancer patients. This includes patients on solid tumor services, malignant hematology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), leukemia units, clinical trial patients, CART, Bite (CRS, ICANS monitoring). The nocturnist ensures timely evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of acute issues while coordinating with day teams for continuity and safety.
The Oncology Nocturnist works overnight 12-hour shifts based on a published schedule. The role requires in-hospital presence throughout the shift. The position involves direct patient care, clinical communication, and documentation in a fast-paced tertiary oncology center environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and admit patients from the emergency department, clinics, or transfers.
- Provide cross-coverage and acute issue management for inpatient oncology services overnight.
- Manage and triage pages from nursing staff and consult services.
- Stabilize and manage clinical emergencies (e.g., sepsis, bleeding, respiratory failure, respond to Condition C, Condition A, Condition Support).
- Initiate appropriate diagnostic workups and treatment plans.
- Engage with specialty consultants when necessary.
- Handoffs and Documentation
- Deliver thorough verbal and written handoffs to daytime teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Team Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality overnight care.
- Escalate clinical or operational concerns to supervising attendings or service leadership.
- Policy and Protocol Adherence
- Follow institutional protocols for oncology-specific emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, febrile neutropenia, and hypercalcemia.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives relevant to nocturnal care delivery.
- Education and Supervision
- Provide supervision and mentorship to residents, fellows, or advanced practice providers (APPs) during overnight shifts, if applicable.
- Participate in RCAs, oncology specific clinical updates, reviews, discussions.
Professional Skills:

The overall function of the Chief of Breast medical oncology is to coordinate the delivery of inpatient and outpatient specialty care by division faculty to all breast cancer patients as needed in compliance with standards and regulations set forth by JCAHO and other regulatory agencies. The Chair of Medical Oncology will assist the Chief of Hematology/Oncology as well as the Chairman of the UPMC Cancer Centers to coordinate the mission of the community (UPMC Cancer Centers) faculty and the full-time (UPP) faculty.
Opportunity Details
Provide a leadership role in the conduct and coordination of breast cancer care
Participate in regular review and evaluation of all quality and appropriateness of patient care rendered by members of the Division. Such review to be carried out through specifically designated medical staff mechanisms.
Participate in Division budget planning and assist in the preparation of all reports for the Breast Cancer program
Participate in the development of programs and services to serve the needs of oncology patients as deemed medically appropriate.
Participate in defining the scope of general oncology practice at the Hospital in a manner consistent with and supportive of, the Hospital s mission and strategic goals, and advocate the Hospital s interest related to general oncology services within the University of Pittsburgh Physicians
Assess the cost-effectiveness of oncology practice at the Hospital and recommend methods by which the most economical use of equipment, supplies and pharmaceuticals can be assured without compromising the medical necessities of treatment.

The Department of Dermatology seeks a cosmetic dermatologist to join our full-time faculty! Join a busy team of cosmetic dermatologists and advanced practice providers headed by Dr. Suzan Obagi in our Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Health Center located in Wexford, PA and Pittsburgh, PA.
Located 20 minutes from the heart of the city, our state-of-the-art Wexford practice houses the Department's quickly expanding cosmetic program. Located among rolling hills in a beautiful suburban neighborhood, our 11,000 square foot, newly built office is the ideal setting for an aesthetic practice. We have 3 procedure rooms and over 10 lasers ranging from q-switched, fractional CO2, vascular lasers, hair removal lasers, non-ablative lasers, and skin-tightening devices. Patients come from the entire tri-state region seeking neuromodulators, fillers, lasers, liposuction, mini-facelifts, and blepharoplasties.
Our second location is in the beautiful neighborhood of Shadyside just 10 minutes outside the city. This location serves our laser and injectables population of patients and draws patients from a wide part of the state.

Assistant/Associate/Professor, Non-Tenure (Full-Time)
The UPMC/University of Pittsburgh Department of Radiology is recruiting full-time on-site Radiologists in the Cardiothoracic Imaging Division. The Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging at UPMC/University of Pittsburgh interprets chest radiographs, thoracic CT and MRI, and cardiovascular MRI and CT with a broad mix of pathology. The Division is centered at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, a Level I Regional Resource Trauma Center, and a leading regional referral center. The hospital has been repeatedly named to the US News and World Report's Honor Roll and is a leading center for organ transplantation, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and critical care medicine and trauma services. Division faculty also rotate at UPMC Shadyside hospital. Applicants must have an MD degree or equivalent, must be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, and must be eligible for unrestricted licensure in Pennsylvania. Candidates must have subspecialty fellowship training and experience in Thoracic and Cardiac Imaging.
