Qualifications You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; OR Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education.

Qualifications: 1.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2.
Current license to practice law in Virginia and admitted to the Virginia Bar.
3.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in elder law, estate planning, and related areas.
4.
Proven experience in retirement asset planning, estate and gift tax planning, and drafting revocable and irrevocable trusts.
5.
In-depth knowledge of wills, trusts, property law, and Medicaid regulations.
6.
Strong advocacy skills and a passion for elder law.
7.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and their families.
8.
High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
9.
Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
10.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve complex legal issues.
11.
Familiarity with legal research tools and software.
