Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Pain ManagementSouthwoods Health is hiring a CNP or PA to work in our Pain Clinic in Boardman, Ohio.
Under general direction will effectively identify, evaluate, and address the prevention of diseases, while administering quality care for their patients.
Will communicate with members of the medical staff on issues concerning consultation, collaboration, and referrals.
Responsible for the diagnosis, and the treatment of critical, prolonged, and long-term healthcare issues.
Will participate in educating patients and families on their preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medications and treatment.
Maintain accurate and legible medical records, while documenting all medical evaluations, diagnosis, procedures, treatment, prognosis, referrals, education, and consultations that are consistent with state regulatory standards.
Must have: Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with active license in the State of Ohio; Active DEA; BLS certification through AHA.

Daily Expectations and Duties ? Overview
- Diagnosing and treatment.
- Performing medical examinations.
- Administrating or directing health treatment procedures as appropriate.
- Administrating or directing the administration of MAT and other health treatment procedures as appropriate.
- Ordering labs or tests as necessary.
- Consults with the CMO, Medical Director, and other Behavioral Health Providers on treatment of patients to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Provides timely progress notes and other medical reports on all patients.
- Assists with developing and/or implementing in-service training programs designed to upgrade staff's knowledge regarding health concerns and new technology in the health care treatment, including substance treatment.
- Develops policies and procedures regarding medical services and medical components of activities including research, service evaluation and quality assurance in collaboration with the Medical Director.
- Provides prescriptions for medication within the scope of practice in collaboration with the Medical Director.
- On an on-going basis, collaborates with staff of other clinical departments within the Agency to afford a team approach to client care promoting continuity and unified goal setting.
Qualifications
- Master's degree and completion of accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Current licensure and Certificate of Authority to practice as a Physician
- Assistant in the state of Ohio required. DOT Cert. and X-Waiver preferred.
- BLS & ACLS certification
- 2+ years' experience in family practice environment preferred
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently, but also able to collaborate effectively with other staff members to provide quality patient care
- Behavioral health experience desirable
- Maintains required training in accordance with the Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment Act (MAT Act)
