This is a critical leadership position for a global manufacturer looking to elevate their safety culture & program. Our client is currently seeking an energetic, passionate HSSE leader to oversee their largest, flagship location in Youngstown, OH. Although the title is a Sr. HSSE Manager, these responsibilities are akin to a Director.
This person will be responsible for the overall direction and efficiency of the HSSE program for a site of over 1100 individuals conducting high-risk manufacturing. This person will lead a team of EHS professionals. This person will need to be comfortable interacting with managers of different departments in order to implement & oversee an effective program across all levels. The position is primarily focused on safety, but it will include security and environmental compliance.
The Role:
- Strategically lead safety, environmental, and security functions for site.
- Manage/coach other senior leaders to implement transformational change.
- Ensure a strong level of compliance and identify gaps/areas of improvement.
- Set site roadmap to ensure alignment with company goals.
The Candidate:
- Minimum of 10 years of EHS experience in a high-risk setting.15+ years preferred.
- B.S. in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Additional safety training/certifications required. CSP/CIH/CHST preferred.
- Comfortable relocating to the Youngstown, OH area (relocation assistanceis provided).

Salary ranges from:
$60,000 - $75,000 + up to 10% in bonuses
Shift time:
Monday - Friday: 3:00am - 1:00pm
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
- Strong leadership qualities
- Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
- High aptitude for technology
- The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An Associates or Bachelor's Degree, preferred but not required
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Relaying critical information between drivers and our vendors/Terminal Managers
- Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
- This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
- Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiencies while monitoring a changing workload
- Being aware of freight that is in transit
- Assist and report issues that drivers face when they're on the road (i.e. flat tire)
- Ensure facility Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are met and/or exceeded
- Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
- Provide / support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers

The Class A Operator is responsible for the safe and proper execution of HPC Industrial jobs across all services lines. Supervises and completes single task jobs requiring one crew and completes turnarounds with management oversight at client’s site in accordance with client and business requirements and company policies, practices, and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response and administrative functions;
Hands-on operation vacuum equipment and hydroblasting equipment;
Operation of special equipment, such as Ultra High-Pressure pumps;
Operate equipment by energizing the pumping equipment and/or any specialized hydroblasting and/or chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks and cutting equipment being used on the job;
May be required to examine surface cleaned to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications;
Perform routine maintenance on company equipment being used on the job;
Perform any and all duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines and jet rodders;
May direct a crew of vacuum technicians;
May transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations;
Completes pre and post trip inspections, driver’s logs and complies with all other vehicle policy and DOT requirements;
Loading and unloading hoses;
Unload vacuum truck at the dump site;
Provide general maintenance in the field;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training and essential experience gained on other jobs;
Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations;
Valid driver’s license, CDL Class A and other requirements of company’s driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business;
Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) or must be able to obtain.
Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers;
Experience operating a vacuum truck;
Working knowledge of operating equipment used in wet and dry vacuums.
What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?
High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience;
Class A CDL License required; No restrictions, must be licensed to drive manual transmission trucks.
HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsements required.
TWIC card required or must be able to obtain.
75 - 100 % travel.
Availability to work variable shifts including days or nights, weekends.

Compensation & Benefits
We recognize the commitment, time, and care involved in being a gestational carrier. Compensation includes:
Base Compensation
- $60,000 – $70,000(First-time carrier to experienced carrier)
Additional Benefits
- $250 monthly expense allowance
- $500 maternity clothing allowance
- $10,500 for multiple birth
- Up to $10,000 for loss of organs (per contract terms)
- Lost wages (carrier and spouse, if applicable — based on employment verification)
- Travel reimbursement
- $200 per week for housekeeping (if medically necessary)
- $20 per hour for childcare (if medically necessary)
