Job Summary
Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is currently seeking a Thoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Clinician to join our team. This full-time, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the inpatient setting. The schedule is Monday through Friday, offering an excellent work-life balance. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a NYS License. Core Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of thoracic conditions and surgical procedures
- Conduct daily patient rounds, provide ongoing patient education, and assist in the coordination of multidisciplinary care
- Prepare and complete detailed admission history and physicals, progress notes, consults and discharge summaries with appropriate documentation in the medical record
- Responsible for bedside procedures including thoracentesis and chest tube insertion/removal
- Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans under the supervision of the thoracic surgical team
- EPIC EMR with Provider Support Team
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Master?s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.
- Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.
- Familiar with EHR/EMR software.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
- Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
PREFERRED:
- Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
