At New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) deliver incredible care that is unseen anywhere else in the world. Our team of CRNAs at Weill Cornell provide patient-centered anesthesia for all types of surgical procedures, including cardiac, vascular, neurosurgery, pediatrics and obstetrics. Nurse Anesthetists administer general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical, obstetric and diagnostic procedures.
In addition to providing excellent care, our CRNA’s also provide one-on-one anesthesia instruction for Columbia University and Fairfield University’s Nurse Anesthesia Program. In April of 2018, we opened the state-of-the-art David H. Koch Ambulatory Surgery Center that has become the focal point of ambulatory surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. In 2020, we expanded the DHK Ambulatory Center to house the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Women’s Hospital. Our CRNA’s have a continued commitment to providing patients with the most integrated and innovative patient care and use their expertise and top technology to consistently achieve surgical success rates and the nation’s lowest mortality rate.

Primary Duties:

Provides patient treatment services including review of pertinent historical information, safely administering modalities, and providing interventions within the treatment plan's limits under supervision of licensed physical therapist. Collaborates interventions with other team members toward an interdisciplinary approach where appropriate.
* Recognizes and documents changes/response in patient's condition and contributes to modification of the treatment plan in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, a licensed physical therapist. Provides verbal/written reports as appropriate for patient progress conferences where applicable.
* Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assigned students as appropriate.
Qualifications:
* Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant school.

Provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients with a variety of medical conditions. This includes but is not limited to performing malnutrition assessments nutrition focused physical exams diet educations and providing nutrition support recommendations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Consults with and/or makes recommendations to physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses nutrient needs or specific diet plans.
* Formulates nutrition assessment evaluation and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk as ordered by providers or according to departmental policy. Recommends and documents patient's nutrition treatment findings and plan in the patient's medical record.
* Consults in/outpatients in diet rationale for self-management.
* Participates in clinical rounds appropriate department/service meetings and communicates appropriate information to administrative personnel in service area. Must be flexible to cross-cover and train in all areas including the Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics if needed.
* Reviews at least one annual review of literature pertinent to the area(s) of responsibility and presents to peers in Journal Club.
* Presents at least one case study to peers annually relating to Journal Club if possible.
* Attends pertinent meetings to enhance clinical practice growth records and documents in CDR Professional Development Plan.
* Performs at least one annual formal professional presentation in the area of specialty to allied health professionals or the community.
* Develops implements or participates in one of the following: new or updated education material new policy or policy change QAPI project or other nutrition related project as directed and approved by the CNM.
* Provides relief and cross-coverage as delegated for in/outpatient services.
* Maintains current CDR credentials and DC Licensure and completes yearly competencies as outlined by MGUH.
* Holds current membership in a professional organization pertinent to the role.
* Participates in licensing survey as needed.
