Position Title: Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician
Work Location: Oceanside, CA, USA, 92056
Assignment Duration: 12 months
Work Schedule: Various (see shift details below)
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary:
As an entry-level Manufacturing Technician, you will work within a team to produce and deliver quality products for patients around the world. Work is divided between Upstream and Downstream departments, where technicians are expected to work in a safe manner and follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Upstream: Prepare medium for cell growth and maintain cell cultures; Set up and break down stainless steel bioreactors.
- Downstream: Isolate, purify, and concentrate products; Prepare buffers and clean/steam Chromatography skids; Support formulation processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, and communication).
- Must be able to work all shifts, required overtime, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to pass all job-related tests and certifications (cGMP, inspections).
- Must re-qualify annually for job-related training and certifications.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and climb stairs (up to 6 flights daily).
- Clean room gowning required (hospital scrubs, bunny suits, gloves, steel-toe boots).
- Personal cell phones and makeup/jewelry are prohibited on the clean room floor.
Education:
- Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering and 1 year related experience OR
- Associate degree with 3 years of experience OR
- Biotech certificate from an approved program OR
- High school diploma with 5 years of related experience.
Work Experience:
- 1 to 2 years experience in operating complex mechanical equipment (washing, autoclaving, assembly) for Upstream/Downstream processes is highly desirable.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical, or related industries is ideal.
Computers:
- Must be computer literate, including the ability to interface with computer systems and PLC-based logic.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google platforms is essential.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in a clean room environment, with strict dress code regulations and safety procedures.
