Summary: Performs and assesses ultrasounds to assist in the diagnosis of disease, works effectively with patients and families, and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel by performing the following duties.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.Responsible for ultrasound/sonographic examinations, including two-dimensional, Doppler, and M-mode.*

2.Responsible for patient preparation, including obtaining vital signs and recording on charts.*

3.Responsible for patient relations, including providing information to patient's family members.*

4.Responsible for liaison communication between patients, physicians, and supervisor.*

5.Responsible for clinical/technical area supplies.*

6.Responsible for EKG examinations.*

7.Travels to any area as needed.*

8.Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of all equipment and the company vehicle.*

9.Attends at least one-half of staff meetings.

10.Takes calls according to monthly schedule.

11.Performs all other duties as assigned.

Associate's degree (A. S.) or equivalent in Sonography/Ultrasound from two-year college or technical school; and less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Current BCLS certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must complete annual education requirements
  • Must maintain regulatory requirements
  • Eligible for ARDMS registry within three months of hire
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must meet insurance underwriting requirements
