Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology and subsequent Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements.
Must be registered in the subspecialty of CT or be registry eligible and pass CT registry within 8 months of hire date.
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience:
Preference of at least one year work experience in hospital environment working in CT/X-RAY after graduation and accreditation; however, we are willing to train.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Possesses knowledge of CT scanning and has general knowledge of many types of x-ray equipment and computers. Will train on specific equipment and processes utilized at Williamson Health. Has had training in fluoroscopy, surgery and routine studies.
Willing to perform above functions daily as need in both modalities.
Physical Environment:
Radiation safety and universal precautions practiced in a multimodality imaging department.

Maintains educational requirements to include but, not limited to CEU's, licensure, BLS, and Healthstream courses as assigned.

Job Summary:
Performs validation reviews of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG), Adaptive Predictive Coding (APC), and Never Events (inexcusable outcomes in a healthcare setting) for all lines of business. Coordinates rate adjustments with claims areas. Provides monthly and quarterly reports outlining trends. Serves as a resource in resolving coding issues. Coordinates HIPAA and legal records requests for all areas of Healthcare Services and the Legal Department
Day to Day:
- 75% Determines methodology to identify cases for validation review. Conducts validation reviews/coordinates rates adjustments with appropriate claims area. Creates monthly/quarterly reports to present to each line of business providing information on records review, outcomes, trends, and savings that directly impact medical costs and contracting rates.
- 15% Manages records retrieval, release, HIPAA compliance, and all aspects of document management.
- 10% Serves as expert resource on methodology and procedures for medical records and coding issues.
Required Work Experience: 3 years medical record management to include coding and validation review experience.
