Job Summary and QualificationsThe Nurse Apprentice delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the Nurse Extern’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The Nurse Extern is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing and can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved.
What qualifications you will need:- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurse
- Completion of Nursing Fundamentals is required
- 1+ years of nursing school completed, or as mandated by state of practice is preferred
- Live in the State of Kansas
- Attend a Kansas Board of Nursing program

Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Nurse Extern you will deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. You will work under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN).
Here is some of what you can expect from being a Nurse Extern with us:
- You will participate in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- You will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with your Nurse Extern’s skills/training and the needs of the Department.
- You will consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
- You will be currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing and can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved.
- You will obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood glucose levels, intake and output, and calorie counts.
- You will participates as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues.
What qualifications you will need:
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited RN school of nursing required.
- Foundations/Fundamentals course completed required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.

The Opportunity:
Saint Luke's South in Overland Park is seeking a PACU RN to join their Perianesthesia team. In this position, you will provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients with various conditions and acuity levels undergoing various procedures including; but not limited to orthopedics, total joints, sports medicine, GYN, urology, plastics, general surgery, and some spine.
This is a tight knit collaborative team that supports each other and are willing to go above and beyond for their peers, our patients and their families. They are a customer focused team where patient experience is a top priority.
Shift: FT Days, this position does take call.
The Work:
- Provides pre-operative and post-operative care for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
- Utilizes the nursing process
- Performs patient care, delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff
- Coordinates the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines and procedures

The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, advanced assessment skills, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
Key responsibilities include continuous patient monitoring, assessment of vital signs and oxygen levels, administration of IV fluids and medications, and timely communication with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to support and adjust patient care plans.
