Role Overview

Food52 is looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic Test Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary production and content team. This role sits at the center of our kitchen operations—ensuring shoots run smoothly, ingredients are ready, and the kitchen stays organized and functional.

The ideal candidate is passionate about food media, comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, and excited to occasionally step in front of the camera.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with recipe prep and ingredient preparation for video shoots and editorial projects
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the test kitchen, including dishwashing and equipment upkeep
• Shop for ingredients and supplies, including grocery runs and specialty sourcing
• Prepare ingredients and equipment for video shoots and content production
• Maintain and organize kitchen equipment, tools, and pantry inventory
• Assist culinary talent during shoots and demonstrations
• Help with setup for recurring series such as Come and Get It
• Occasionally appear on camera in supporting roles when needed

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, test kitchen, or food media environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to multitask across kitchen prep and production needs
• Passion for food, cooking, and storytelling

Nice to Have

• Culinary school training or professional kitchen experience
• On-camera comfort or food styling experience
• Familiarity with food media or recipe testing workflows

Schedule

Hybrid schedule of 3-4 days per week in our office in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, but subject to change on a week to week basis depending on the needs of the business.

Salary Range

$55,000 - 57,000

The range provided is based on what we reasonably expect to pay for this job as of the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, job-related knowledge, skills, geographical location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
