The GI Division at Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for an experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our fast-paced, ambulatory, academic gastroenterology practice for our Waltham location. Under the supervision and direction of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager and faculty of the General GI team, and in accordance with the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing nurse practitioner and physician assistant practice, the APP will play an important team role with care delivery and continuity for patients with general GI conditions. The APP will be clinically based with 8 clinical sessions with one hour of administrative time given for each clinical session. Working closely with a dedicated team of physicians, APPs, nurses, medical assistants, and patient care coordinators, the APP plays a critical role in delivering direct patient care. The APP will participate in a team-based care approach to see patients diagnosed with various GI disease and disorders. The APP will be responsible for new, urgent and follow-up visits.
Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.
