Director of Risk Management & Quality Assurance

Salary: $140K - $150K/yr

Advantage Care Health Centers provide compassionate, efficient and accessible community-based medical, dental and mental/behavioral services to children and adults at Long Island’s premier Federally Qualified Health Care Centers (FQHC).

Ready to make a real difference in community health? This isn't just a management role — it's a chance to shape how an entire health center delivers care, protects its patients, and builds for the future.

As Director of Risk Management and Quality Assurance, you'll sit at the intersection of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and genuine community impact. You'll lead the charge in building a culture where quality isn't a checkbox — it's a way of life. From overseeing daily clinical operations to championing performance improvement projects, your fingerprints will be on everything that makes this health center run safely, smartly, and compassionately.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and chair the Risk Management/Quality Assurance committee.
  • Drive quality improvement audits using EMR tools (COGNOS) for data insights.
  • Lead performance improvement projects impacting patient outcomes, costs, and experience.
  • Serve as primary liaison to regulatory agencies (DOH, HRSA, CMS) and community partners.
  • Oversee PCMH accreditation and ensure quality measures are consistently met.
  • Champion patient rights — addressing complaints and investigating incidents.
  • Manage staff training programs aligned with NYSDOH and HRSA requirements.
  • Collaborate across dental, medical, and operations departments.
  • Oversee value-based care contracts (IPA & ACO) and quality measurement activities.
  • Support succession planning and contribute to the future leadership pipeline of the health center.

Why This Role Is Exciting

This is a rare opportunity to be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader. You’ll influence board-level decisions, mentor staff, shape policy, and directly impact the health of underserved communities. You’ll work with a dedicated team that believes healthcare is a human right — and you’ll have the tools, authority, and support to make that belief a reality every single day.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a leader who is as passionate about people as they are about process. Here’s what sets the ideal candidate apart:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, risk management, or quality assurance, within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or comparable community‑based healthcare organization.
  • Deep knowledge of Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), Federal and state regulatory requirements, including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing.
  • Strong verbal written, and organizational skills — you communicate clearly and persuasively whether you're presenting to a board or coaching a staff member.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Bonus points if you have experience serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities — experience is invaluable.
  • A growth mindset, a collaborative spirit, and genuine excitement about using data to transform care.

Director of Risk Management and Quality Assurance, if you’re energized by the idea of building something meaningful — and leading a team that’s genuinely committed to better health for all — Please apply!

We offer medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, voluntary short/long term disability, paid time off, paid holidays, and more! equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
