Our Cardiology outpatient practice located in Albany, NY is seeking an RN with excellent attention to detail and clinical reasoning skills to join our dedicated team of healthcare providers!

Under the direction of the practice physician and/or advanced practice provider (APP) and the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor (RN), the RN may provide direct patient care, patient triage (in-person and telephonic), assessment, planning, directing and evaluating of a patient’s specific care plan and clinic visit. Able to work effectively within a team of multi-specialty professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Obtains and accurately record patient’s vital signs; reports abnormal values to treating provider

• Obtains and documents a patient’s history (Medical, Surgical and Social) and focused physical assessment, related to the clinic visit and as dictated by clinic procedure

• Administers medications and treatments to patients in clinic, under the direction of a physician or APP

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree of a state accredited Registered Nursing program is required

• NYS current RN licensure to practice professional nursing is required

• Current BLS certification required

• Experience in Outpatient setting preferred. Experience in Cardiology preferred.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members or other employees within the work setting.

The Perioperative Clinical Service Line Lead reports to the nurse manager and holds a key leadership position within the division. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, this leader assumes the responsibility of coordinating and articulating the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Albany Med Health system, the nursing service, and perioperative nursing into effective action.

The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator fulfills an essential function and is dedicated to the Trauma Service at Albany Medical Center (AMC) in accordance with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards for both the adult and pediatric trauma program.  This individual works in collaboration with the trauma program leadership and is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the trauma performance improvement process.  

• The Trauma PI Coordinator collects and analyzes benchmarking data, focus studies and clinical indicators.  

• They use advanced skills in quality assessment to perform comprehensive quality of care and service audits to facilitate the development of valid standards and tools. 

• The Trauma PI Coordinator ensures loop closure, prepares reports, presents outcomes and participates in organizational-wide continuous improvement projects as it relates to the trauma program. 

• They are self-motivated and a team player. 

• This individual demonstrates accuracy and confidentiality in the handling of all trauma-related matters. Most important the person in this position can conduct quantitative data analysis in reporting (metrics) as well as the qualitative. 

• This position needs to be continually challenging the Trauma program (Pediatric and Adult) and Trauma Teams to look at data; drawing them to metrics that measure care and outcomes and driving to results (PDCA) on safety and quality improvement. Due to the ratio of adult vs. pediatric patients, approximately 90% of the time should be focused on the adult population and 10% on pediatrics.

$78,773.63 - $122,099.12The clinical research coordinator is responsible for the organization and management of multiple industry
sponsored and Investigator initiated clinical trials. The position is accountable for assisting in the timely and
accurate conduct of research studies, being concerned primarily for the protection and care of the patient as a
research patient from initiation to completion of study. Activities include participating in the study start up and
termination procedures, working with study participants in various study tasks including patient recruitment,
screening for eligibility, scheduling, physical assessments and biospecimen collection and processing, as well as
data collection and study completion activities. The research coordinator serves as the liaison between PI and
research site and the study sponsor and other vendors working on the trial.

B. Pre-Study Initiation
1. Attend site pre-study visit/qualification visit meetings and Site Initiation Meeting, whether on site or remote  
2. Attend Investigator Meeting either remote or at location specified by the study sponsor (requires travel)   
3. Complete and submit new protocol feasibility questionnaires with research site information.  
4. Review confidentiality forms in conjunction with the ORA and obtain appropriate signatures 
5. Assist in study feasibility assessments by considering the patient population, time and personnel
requirements, competing trials, ability to maintain patient safety and confidentiality, fiscal soundness, and
logistical capabilities including interdepartmental needs, i.e. radiology, operating room, inpatient and
outpatient pharmacy.  
6. Prepare and submit pre-IRB approval documents for review and approval by the following institutional
committees as appropriate: Research Pharmacy, Value Analysis (VAMS), Antibiotic Sub-committee, Radiation
Safety Committee, Institutional Biosafety Committee, Departmental Review Committees  
7. Prepare and submit regulatory documents required by federal regulations to the Study sponsor/CRO prior to
site initiation and maintain during the course of the study  
a. 1572 (pharmaceutical trials) 
b. Statement of investigator (device trials) 
c. Financial Disclosure forms for PI and Sub Investigators (SI) 
d. CV and medical license for PI and Sub Investigators (SI) 
e. Current Human Subject Protection and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training certificates for

8. Complete the delegation of authority/duty logs to indicate the site personnel involved with the study and
update as necessary throughout the course of the study with either new study personnel or personnel that is

9. Prepare the patient informed consent (ICF) and assent (if applicable) by inserting the AMC required language
into the sponsors ICF template and submitting to the sponsor for approval prior to IRB submission  
10. Prepare for study site initiation visit 
a. Schedule visit and all required personnel (PI, sub-investigators, coordinators, research
manager, pharmacy, clinical nursing units, operating room staff, etc.) to be present 
b. Schedule study specific training visits,  
c. Ensure all study required items are on-site (tablets for questionnaires, lab supplies, devices,
study medication/investigational products, EKG machine, etc.) 

11. Develop original source data collection worksheets to comply with protocol specific data requirements to 
include adverse event logs, and medication logs to ensure all required patient data is collected.
 

C.      IRB
1. Prepare initial IRB submission documents to include: AMC Checklist, IRB application, study protocol, ICF,        
advertisements, Investigator Brochure, patient diaries (paper or screen shots), patient questionnaires,
other patient facing materials  
2. Submit the new protocol IRB submission to the ORA through the InfoEd portal and after approval submit
to the either WCG through Connexus Portal or approved IRB of record.   
3. Prepare and submit annual continuing review reports and site termination report to the IRB of record  
4. Prepare and submit any changes to the IRB approved study documents as requested by the study sponsor
to include protocol amendments, changes to the ICF, new versions of the Investigator Brochure, new or
changes to advertisements of patient facing materials 
5. Prepare and submit protocol deviations and/or violations to the study sponsor and IRB as necessary 
 

 
D. Patient Interactions
1. 
Participate in or conduct the informed consent process and HIPAA authorization, per AMC SOP, 
with research participants through discussion of the study protocol, procedures, timelines, risks, benefits
and answering any questions. Obtain the appropriate signatures and dates/time on the ICF form and
documents the process and file a copy in the patient’s medical record. Assures that patients sign any future
amended versions of the consent if applicable.  
2. Develop study schedule and required procedures, timelines, and deadlines with study patient and family,
the PI and research team.  
3. Coordinate patient follow-up study visits, treatments, testing, procedures, and schedules  

4. Conduct patient study visits and required assessments per each individual protocol  
5. Assess patients for eligibility using the study specific inclusion and exclusion criteria.  
6. Perform patient health assessments to include but not limited to: Vital signs, EKG, medication and medical
history review as required per protocol and as ordered by the PI/Sub-I,  
7. Obtain required biological specimens from patient, i.e., urine, sputum, etc.  
8. Perform blood draw to obtain blood specimens  
9. Administer study specific scales; i.e. stroke scales, mental assessments, etc.  
10. Administer questionnaires to be completed by the patient, i.e. quality of life questionnaires, pain scores,
etc., and review for completeness  
11. Perform POC testing as applicable per SOP, i.e. urine pregnancy, urine drug test, blood sugar, urinalysis  
12. Coordinate/schedule other study required procedures to be done, i.e. physical exam with study provider,
radiology, ultrasounds, echocardiograms, follow up study visits etc.  
13. Dispense to patient and train patient on completion of study diary, if applicable  
14. Review completed patient diaries with patient   
15. In conjunction with the provider, provide oral study mediation to the patient or set up/schedule
medication infusions or coordinate with nurse to administer study medication injection.  
16. Review oral study medication compliance with patient at each visit  
17. Collect required data from the patient   
18. Procedure Visit –Clinic procedure room, Operating room, Cath lab, Angio suite, etc. 
a. Ensure appropriate study medication or device is ordered for procedure 
b. Ensure appropriate study personnel are scheduled and present for procedure 
c. Transport study medication or device to appropriate location  
d. Review intra operative inclusion/exclusion criteria  
e. Randomize patient to treatment arm, if required 
f. Collect required data before, during and after the procedure 
g. Ensure study procedure requirements are followed  
h. Collect specimens as appropriate and send to sponsor as required   
19. Monitor and communicate on a continuous basis with patients and families to facilitate identification of

$95,680.00 - $148,304.00The “STAT” level Clinical Support Nurse is responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health, assessing the patient's human response to actual and potential health problems, implementing nursing interventions to achieve outcomes for the patient that facilitate homeostasis, and determining the effectiveness of nursing interventions. The STAT Nurse makes independent decisions/judgments and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations based on protocol. They will collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate, to coordinate continuity of patient care in support of medical and nursing plans of care. The STAT Nurse acts to support patient care needs in any acute medical/surgical unit, intensive care unit, and Emergency Department.

The STAT team is a group of critical care trained professional nurses who are available 24/7 for any issue within the hospital and medical college. STAT nurses provide specialized care to all patients, employees, and visitors requiring acute medical attention at Albany Medical Center and Albany Medical College. The team members also contribute their knowledge to educate staff, patients, and families to recognize clinical deterioration and how to make a proactive assessment and observation for patients at risk for deterioration. STAT team members give MOCK code training for nurses and ancillary staff to help facilitate better outcome in code situations.

STAT Nurses respond to:

Code stroke, Code Thrombectomy, Code STEMI, Code 10, Anesthesia Emergency, Code Blue, Code Malignant Hyperthermia, Code Pink, and Rapid Response pages. Any employee with questions about hospital policies, procedures, or patient care.

STAT Nurses will:

• Use problem focused physical exams to evaluate and treat patients according to protocols.
• Stabilize decompensating patients on the floor and in ICUs.
• Manage ICU patients on the floor.
• Facilitate movement of patients to higher level of care when needed.
• Use the chain of command when resolving issues.
• Assist visitors and staff to ED after a Code Gray.

Education Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum Qualifications
•    Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
•    Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
•    Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
•    Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
•    Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills
•    Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.

$86,650.99 - $134,309.04The Clinical Informatics Nurse utilizes the Tenets of American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of practice for Nursing Informatics. The Clinical Informatics Nurse provides expertise in the planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of new or existing functionality related to clinical and business information systems. Working under the direction of the Director of Informatics, CNIO, the Clinical Informatics Nurse integrates nursing/clinical science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge and wisdom in clinical practice. The Clinical Informatics Nurse supports the metaparadigm of nursing through information and data management, and works as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to processes, workflow, policies, and information systems that support clinical practice and operations. The Clinical Informatics Nurse ensures data/information is current with regulatory agency and evidence-based practice standards and incorporates a unique body of nursing knowledge with clinical information systems. The Clinical Informatics Nurse coordinates the collection and reporting of outcome metrics associated with the clinical information systems. This position serves as an internal consultant to all departments to identify and achieve department and organizational goals and provides direct contact with vendors to ensure customer needs are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Designs and supports systems and manages projects directed at improving quality and patient care outcomes using information technology.
• Maintains current knowledge of computer applications used within the organization, evolving technologies, and current patient safety literature to guide system modifications and the pursuit of new clinical technology.
• Conducts periodic workflow analysis to optimize the use of technology in patient care.
• Provides input on clinical functions that are suitable for computer application and ensures the information systems are consistent with professional standards of nursing practice.
• Collaborates with the end user throughout the organization on all computer system related initiatives.
• Co-Lead and coordinate user group forums to continuously evaluate and improve system functionality.
• Collaborates with Director of Informatics, CNIO, CHIO, CMIO, CNO, Nursing Directors, AVPs and managers, Technology and IT staff on special projects.
• Utilizes a unique body of knowledge, preparation, and experience aligning with nursing profession.

Qualifications
