Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct routine eye exams and manage ocular diseases (glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.)
- Provide emergency eye care (e.g., foreign body removal, ocular trauma)
- Fit and prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses, including specialty lenses
- Diagnose and treat refractive errors, strabismus, and binocular vision issues
- Use of advanced instrumentation and techniques as needed
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, an preventive care
- Ensure adherence to documentation timelines (all documentation due within 72 hours of service)
- Indian or Rural Health experience
- May include school-based vision screening visits for local K 12 schools (Rocky Boy and Box Elder)
