Litigation Secretary


Location: Oakland, CA

Pay Rate and Benefits: $100,000 to $115,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.)

Position Type: Full-time, Hybrid (2 Days Onsite After 90 Days), Direct Hire


LHH is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Litigation Secretary to join a large, reputable firm in Oakland, CA. This role supports a busy L&E practice and requires advanced litigation support skills, strong organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys handling Labor & Employment litigation matters.
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and format L&E‑related legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, and employment‑related documentation.
  • Manage court and agency deadlines (DLSE, EEOC, DFEH), track labor/employment timelines, and assist with calculating deposition, hearing, and trial dates.
  • Coordinate attorney calendars, hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings.
  • Assist with e‑filing in state and federal courts, as well as filings with labor and employment agencies.
  • Support attorneys with trial preparation, exhibit management, and document organization.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a litigation secretary, with substantial experience supporting Labor & Employment matters.
  • Strong understanding of L&E litigation procedures, agency processes, and employment‑related filings.
  • Proficiency with state and federal court rules, filing systems, and e‑filing requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail with strong proofreading and document formatting capabilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced team environment.
