Mandatory Qualification:

• Successful completion of an accredited educational training program in which technologists are certified as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and must be certified for their specialty.
• Technologists must be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Two years' experience in the operation of diagnostic radiology equipment under the direction of a Radiologist or other medical officer to produce radiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatment.
• Must have worked within a hospital lab setting as an MRI Tech in the last six months.
• Provide evidence of current professional liability insurance.
• Be available to work for at least six (6) months after starting date.

Responsibilities:

IMAGING: Provides quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.

Competency in the field of CT.

Positions patient for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.

Operates imaging equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.

Uses computer image processing to select and optimize images.

Processes and presents images and related patient information to radiologist for diagnosis.

Assists with patient transport by moving patients using standard procedures.

DOCUMENTATION: Gathers complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to customers.

Identifies patient by checking patient's I.D., full name and medical record number according to department procedure.

Reviews patient chart and orders to insure correct examination.

Labels images completely with demographic, position and other needed

documentation.

Logs activities, gathers charging information and charges exams as required.

Follows department and hospital procedures and policies.

Performs quality control and quality assurance, records results and reports variance from normal equipment function.

Performs medication reconciliation on patients receiving IV contrast media.

PERSONAL & PATIENT CARE AND SAFETY: Provides for personal and patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards so there is no injury to self or others.

Protects patients and others in the area by using proper machine settings and radiation safety standards.

Practices universal and blood and body fluid precautions, and sterile practices according to procedures.

Communicates and uses knowledge of related anatomy and physiology to insure appropriate and effective care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Maintains awareness of patient status and takes appropriate actions to meet their needs.

Starts IV’s using proper technique and administers medications under the direction of the LIP.

Licensure:

National registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (ARRT-R) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) required. CT certification (ARRT-CT) required within six months of job placement. Current state license in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Oregon. Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Method Development:

• Lead all LC-MS method development, improvement, and validation initiatives
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting for LC-MS instrumentation and experimental protocols
• Oversee development, management and validation of new analyte tests
• Ensure non-commercial testing projects remain on schedule and meet objectives
• Perform and record quality control procedures for applicable equipment and protocols

Data Management & Analysis:

• Lead presentation and handling of complex analytical data
• Communicate anomalous LC-MS test results to clinical consulting team
• Write clinical monographs explaining clinical relevance of LC-MS testing
• Review quarterly quality assurance reports for LC-MS data

Collaboration & Support:

• Work with Laboratory Manager and Mass Spectrometry Managers to guide operational and technical decisions
• Facilitate communication between laboratory staff and upper management
• Work with IT, marketing, and sales teams to prepare tests for commercialization
• Collaborate with other laboratory leadership on daily LC-MS operations
• Support maintenance of electronic files for CLIA-regulated research and development

Research & Development:

• Conduct LC-MS product development focusing on nutritional and herbal supplements
• Lead research projects with academic and commercial partners
• Direct technical aspects of LC-MS assays for IRB-approved scientific studies

Professional Development & Communication:

• Conduct presentations, webinars, and lectures on LC-MS research and testing
• Present at scientific conferences and professionais meetings
• Attend conferences to maintain current knowledge of LC-MS/GC-MS innovation
• Provide technical presentations to internal staff and external audiences

Education and Experience:

• Doctorate in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or other life science
• Minimum 5 years of relevant LC-MS experience in clinical or research laboratory setting
• Management experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated presentation and communication experience preferred

• Expert-level knowledge in LC-MS maintenance, troubleshooting, and method development
