Responsible for inspecting construction work

Responsible for monitoring ITS and electrical installation techniques to ensure conformance with the plans, specifications, National Electrical Code and other applicable manuals

Responsible for coordinating and managing the lower-level inspectors

Responsible for escalating any deficiencies to the Project Administrator

High School Diploma or Equivalent, OR

Civil, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology Degree (with an EI certificate)

Experience in Fiber Installation Inspection, OTDR Fiber Testing, and Controller Operation and Testing

For personnel with Civil, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology degrees:

One (1) year of ITS CEI experience

Demonstrated knowledge in the qualifications

For personnel without Civil, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology degrees:

Four (4) years of CEI experience

Two (2) of those years involved in ITS CEI

Familiarity with Existing Communication Equipment and Switches

IMSA Fiber Optics for ITS Level II Field (or equivalent)

FDOT ITS CEI Computer-Based Trainings

Managed Field Ethernet Switch Module

Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection to include one (1) year in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.

Schedule: Variable shifts, typically 7 am - 4 pm for days and 9 pm - 6 am for nights with proper notice of upcoming shift changes based on projects. Exact hours may vary based on project needs. Travel required within FL and (hotel accommodations and per diem provided).

Compensation: $25.00 - $32.00 (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

• Performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with local codes, industry standards, and blueprints.
• Collaborating and effectively communicating with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and team members, to determine project requirements, and timelines, and ensure efficient workflow.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints as well as architectural, mechanical, and other trade-specific drawings to ensure seamless coordination across disciplines.
• Installing and connecting electrical wiring, conduit, fittings, switches, outlets, and various electrical components.
• Testing electrical systems and circuits to ensure proper functioning, compliance with safety standards, and identifying any issues.
• Troubleshooting electrical problems and executing necessary repairs or replacements to restore functionality.
• Adhering to established safety guidelines, including implementing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to ensure a secure and hazard-free work environment.
• Maintaining a clean, organized work area
• Working variable shifts to meet the specific scheduling needs of our clients (proper rest and notice will be given before any shift change).
• Traveling to various locations within Central Florida and across the state as required.
• Stay out of town when the location of the project requires

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical installation or service.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and commercial electrical systems.
• Proven experience as a Commercial Electrical Installer.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and diagrams. Ability to travel throughout Florida and adapt to variable work hours and project timelines. Experience running conduit, pulling wire, installing panels, and wiring lighting and control systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools commonly employed in electrical installations
• Ability to work on Scissor and Boom lifts.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts as needed.
