Role Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a BPA, you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nations economic prosperity. Being a BPA makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) profession.

Typical assignments include:

  • Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations.
  • Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband.
  • Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
  • Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.

Qualifications:

GL-9: You qualify for the GL-9 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

  • Performing physical searches of detained individuals, their vehicles, and their immediate surroundings for weapons, contraband, currency, and other evidence.
  • Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws.
  • Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.

If you have previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience, you may qualify at the GS-11 grade level.

GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, with the authority granted by the state or government to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes, performing primary duties in an official law enforcement capacity such as:

  • Utilizing intelligence information to track illegal operations, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or contraband while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official.
  • Leading investigations of fraud, contraband, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or illegal operations to determine sources and patterns while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official.
  • Apprehending violators of state, federal, or immigration laws by utilizing various forms of complex technology that include surveillance, detection, situation awareness systems, and/or communications equipment.

The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; deal effectively with people in a courteous manner in connection with law enforcement matters; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions; or develop and maintain contact with a network of informants.

There are no education substitutions for the GL-9 or GS-11 grade-level Border Patrol Agent opportunities.

We are looking for a Hospitalists , Nocturnist Night 7pm-7am to help support our Inpatient Case Management team in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas.

Position Summary:

Hospitalists will accept RMG patients that are admitted through the emergency department, directly admitted from a physician’s office or transferred from another facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year during their coverage period. RMG will ensure that patients being transferred from another facility are medically stable for transfer. Should a physician escort be required, as determined by the medical director, one will be made available.

Hospitalist will ensure that mentoring responsibilities, (i.e., clinical residents, nurse practitioners, etc) do not delay the management and discharge of RMG patients.

2. Formulate a diagnosis and plan related to the patient’s condition and communicate those effectively to the patient.

3. Prescribe and refill medication, including controlled substances, in accordance with local, state and federal statute and professional practice guidelines.

4. Document all of the above in a timely manner, per policy, in the EHR system.

5. Function as a part of Employer’s clinical team, covering for providers who are out in the Burbank location and other locations as mutually agreed upon, working with case managers, collaborating with specialists and allied health professionals to maximize health outcomes.

6. Physician shall provide on-call services during evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled by Employer. All calls will be responded to within 30 minutes.

7. Perform minor surgical procedures as appropriate to physician’s training and experience.

8. Arrange referrals for patients requiring specialty services. For urgent referrals, directly communicate telephonically with specialists.

9. Provide any consultation notes and other medical information from Physician's care of patients to the referring physicians, either through Employer's electronic medical record system or other means consistent with industry best practices, as appropriate.

10. Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow-up in a timely manner.

11. Participate in marketing outreach as well as staff and patient education programs as assigned by Employer.

12. Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, HCC coding and other clinical meetings.

13. Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.

14. Manage the assigned patient panel in such a way as to optimize health outcomes and minimize inappropriate utilization of resources.

15. Respond to patient phone calls and emails as clinically appropriate, in a timely manner.

16. Supervise APCs (PAs and NPs) when necessary.

17. Complete mandatory trainings by stated deadlines.

18. Read, respond, and act on company e-mails.

19. Be familiar with and adhere to company policies, procedures, and protocols.

20. Treat patients, staff, and peers with respect; display professional behavior in all interactions.

21. Work collaboratively with staff and peers towards company goals.

22. Other assignments, projects, and duties assigned to Physician from time to time by Employer consistent with Physician’s duties.

To be considered for the role you must have:


  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of remodel, ground-up, and T.I. (tenant improvement) projects.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings with accuracy.
