Location: San Diego, CA (Onsite)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the Senior Manager, FP&A will play a pivotal role in Client's continued growth and will be a key member of the Finance team acting as the financial business partner to a functional group within the organization. Responsible for generating meaningful reporting and analytics and effectively communicating those findings across all levels of the organization to drive strong financial decision making. Key areas include preparing periodic reporting and communicating performance, executing recurring planning processes, maintaining, creating and improving reports, interacting with various functional business partners, and proficiency with corporate financial systems.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain P&L reporting and variance analysis to functional business partners and Finance leadership team, driving continuous improvement in forecasting and reporting.
  • Act as integrated business partner for the organization, provide thought leadership and analysis for G&A Corporate Departments.
  • Support the coordination and consolidation of expense forecasts for all recurring planning processes (rolling forecasts, annual operating plans, long range plan, etc.).
  • Support the improvement of the FP&A Systems (NetSuite Planning and Budgeting).
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures as well as reasonableness of accruals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent presentation skills and MS Office proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate, influence and build credibility with business partners across the organization

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment.   • Prior experience in data entry, administrative support, or document management in a corporate setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint); experience with CRM or contract management systems (e.g., Agiloft, Coupa, Docusign) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. related field preferred.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or other related field, MBA preferred.
  • Targeting 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in a financial planning and analysis role or other finance area, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.
